Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation. The Background Alexander Lee Rogers (also reported as Alex / Alexander Lee Rogers), 51, of Longview, Washington, had done occasional handyman work for Dawn Peters and her household. Dawn Renee Peters, 64, lived in a home on the 100 block of Terumi Lane in Longview with family members, including her husband (Duane/Dwayne Peters), her father, and her brother-in-law Andrew “Leroy” Peters, 73. Multiple relatives and a caregiver were present in the household. Rogers had a prior Washington conviction (early 2000s, Wahkiakum County) for first-degree assault and related charges after a machete attack on two people in a home; he served a lengthy prison sentence (about 20 years) and had been released roughly 10 months before this incident. He also faced a failure-to-register-as-a-sex-offender allegation in this case. The Crime Date and place: August 5, 2025, around midday, inside the Peters family home on Terumi Lane in Longview, Cowlitz County, Washington. Official court/prosecution summary: Rogers killed Dawn Peters by stabbing her in the neck and attempted to kill Andrew “Leroy” Peters by stabbing him in the neck. According to Andrew Peters’s statements in court records: he was in the living room when Rogers cut his throat after being denied money; Rogers then attacked Dawn, who collapsed in the dining room. Rogers ordered Andrew to sit or be stabbed again, then moved down a hall toward other residents. Andrew Peters activated a medical-alert button on the living-room wall and told a dispatcher a murder had occurred. That alert and response caused Rogers to flee. Andrew nearly died but survived and later recovered enough to return home. Dawn died at the scene. Rogers left in a partially spray-painted black BMW (Washington plate associated with the case: BNU8712) and discarded a cellphone. He left Washington and was later found in Southern California. Same-day earlier contact with Longview police at a Fred Meyer (unrelated matter) was captured on bodycam and later used to identify him against doorbell/Ring footage. The Investigation Andrew Peters identified Rogers at the scene despite his own neck injury. A witness reported hearing the medical alert, finding the victims, and seeing a slender man in a baseball cap and jacket nearby. Identification: bodycam from the morning Fred Meyer contact matched clothing/appearance on Ring camera video from the residence. Hundreds of public tips followed. Flight and evidence: Rogers fled to California. On August 11, 2025, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies found the abandoned BMW in a Calabasas parking lot. Search of the car recovered a jacket with dried blood matching descriptions of what he wore. He was arrested August 12, 2025, in Los Angeles (Westlake / Olympic Division area) after a security-guard tip and multi-agency work. He was later extradited to Washington. Suspect statements and inconsistencies: After arrest, Rogers denied involvement and challenged police to produce video or a weapon. On the return trip, he changed accounts, claiming he witnessed the killing but that Andrew Peters attacked Dawn and then himself. Those claims conflicted with Andrew Peters’s on-scene identification, physical evidence, video matching, and Rogers’s later guilty plea. Conviction and Sentencing September 2025: Rogers appeared in Cowlitz County Superior Court, pleaded not guilty at arraignment, and was held without bail. Charges were amended to first-degree murder (Dawn Peters) and first-degree attempted murder (Andrew Peters). December 4, 2025: Rogers pleaded guilty in Cowlitz County Superior Court to Murder in the First Degree and Attempted Murder in the Second Degree. Sentencing followed that week (reported Thursday, December 4 or immediately after; press release dated December 11). Sentence: 503.25 months (about 41 years 11 months to approximately 42 years) in prison. He was 51 at sentencing. Family members addressed the court about Dawn and the impact on her husband. The State was represented by Senior Deputy PA Jake Lervold and Chief Criminal Deputy PA Eric Bentson. Longview Police detectives were credited for the investigation and apprehension. true crime, law and crime network, interrogation, interrogation analysis, red thread interrogations, interrogation jcs inspired, interrogation jcs style, interrogation psychology, interrogation psychology jcs inspired, new interrogations 2026,interrogation breakdown, police interrogation psychology, bodycam, interview, case analysis, bodycam footage, crime investigation, police interrogation, suspect interview, int, interrogations 2026,interrogation videos, jcs true crime
