Patrolman Skylar Wintemberg of the Boonton Township Police raced to Hillcrest Road. A car had flipped over. It was a 2023 Audi Q5. Wintemberg found the driver. He helped her slowly get out. As she exited, Wintemberg smelled alcohol. He also noticed other signs of trouble. The driver was Natalie. She said she was on her way to get her child. Sergeant Christopher Chicoris arrived quickly. Patrolman Wintemberg helped Natalie from her car. Natalie said she swerved to miss two deer. She claimed this caused the rollover. When asked, Natalie denied drinking alcohol. Patrolman Wintemberg led her to the ambulance due to her injuries. First responders checked her out. She refused more help after the evaluation. Natalie also declined a trip to the hospital. With the medical check done, officers started a DWI investigation. They asked her to do field sobriety tests. Patrolman Wintemberg began with the Walk and Turn test. Natalie struggled. She did not walk heel-to-toe. Her turn was not right. The number of steps was wrong. Next was the One Leg Stand test. Natalie could not raise her foot the right way. She did not count well. Her foot touched the ground too soon. The last test was Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. Wintemberg saw a lack of smooth eye movement. Her eyes jerked at maximum deviation. The jerking started before 45 degrees. Natalie crashed her car, and the smell of alcohol hung in the air. She failed the roadside sobriety test. Officers arrested Natalie for driving under the influence. Corigliano Towing impounded her car due to John's Law. The mandatory hold was twelve hours. Patrolman Wintemberg cuffed Natalie. He drove her to the Boonton Township Police Department. There, she would face further processing. Natalie faced the officer at the Boonton Township Police Department. She listened to the Standard Statement. Then, she agreed to give breath samples for testing. The Alcotest results came back, showing a BAC of 0.19%. This was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08%. After processing, Natalie was released to her husband. He signed the Potential Liability Warning form. Patrolman Wintemberg issued her several summonses. These included operating under the influence and reckless driving. Careless driving and traffic on marked lanes were also included. Natalie's past caught up with her. Back on March 2, 2022, she was arrested for DWI in Fairfield, New Jersey. The Boonton Township court records told the story. On May 8, 2024, Natalie was found guilty of driving under the influence. She lost her license for a year. For two years, she must use an ignition interlock device. Plus, she had to spend two days at an intoxicated driver resource center. Fines totaled $890. Other citations were dropped as part of a deal. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
