Department was dispatched to the scene of a roll over crash on Hill Crest Road patrolman wienberg immediately made contact with the occupant of the 2023 Audi Q5 that had rolled over and assisted her as she slowly exited the vehicle as she was exiting the vehicle he detected the odor of alcohol and observed other indicators of impairment the driver later identified as Natalie told the officers that she was headed to pick up her child we're going to have her crawl out of the vehicle can I let me hang yeah okay are you able to come out yeah oh my God I can't believe this these freaking deer okay I know I know no no no no worries take your time take your time got it [ __ ] okay take do you have shoes yeah I they flipped off okay I just don't want you cutting your feet too bad but I want to get you out of this car as safe as possible do you have pain anywhere want to grab my hand I'm going to you know what I'm going to do I'm just going to go 27 okay just keep coming you're okay can't change where are you guys please help me keep crawling you got it I crawling literally the worst luck in the world is the all right can you come over to the side of the Rook a little bit further away you're coming from your house yes I was just going to get my daughter and I was on the phone with a friend and a deer I guess I where did the deer come from and then there was one coming from that way too okay and I'm sorry sir okay I got go it on out here upside down they started R already okay thank you oh my God I can't believe this I'm like looking at this right now and I'm just I can't even believe this I can't even believe this no noine I'm fine I just Natalie I need you to be honest with me um how much alcohol did you consume before you left the house when did you start drinking I I wasn't drinking I was cooking dinner I was going to get my daughter it okay all right so you didn't have anything to drink no cuz it's like I'm detecting alcohol that's why I'm asking no when was the last time that you had anything to drink Florida and I I had it maybe 3 days ago I'm not talking about your clear from that accident asking tonight how much no I didn't okay all right okay can you a job to do and I can say due to your sluggish movements you're you know detecting an order alcohol I've been doing this for a little while since my first rodeo come here I know you have to get her I know I've been doing this job for a little while I detected the odor but she's climbing out of the car and you know due to her slow movements and her delayed response and maybe a little un steady on the feet I understand didn't she just involved in AC and my main concern as I just explained to you is to make sure that you're safe we have an ambulance coming um but however I still have a job to do so you know once we get things figured out we're going to probably right yeah well it you know we have tests that we do on the side of the road so if that I'm just explaining it to you and being most I know I know I just right now I can't I can't think I'm just I can't believe this happens that's fine all right uh the who the vehicle register to and Miss Sergeant Christopher korus arrived on scene shortly afterwards as patrolman wenberg was assisting her in exiting the vehicle she initially claimed that the roll over crash occurred when she swerved to avoid deer that ran in front of her vehicle when Natalie was asked if she had anything to drink she denied consuming any alcohol based on her injuries patrolman wienberg escorted her to the ambulance rig to be evaluated by First Responders after she was evaluated she refused further medical attention and declined transport to the hospital after the First Responders evaluated her the officers began their DWI investigation and asked her to perform field sobriety exercises I can't believe the deer popped out and I and I S where did the deer come out of this area there was one that came out of this way and then one that was coming out of that way okay oh yeah yeah yeah I I'm just like I can't believe just you go get her go get her you have to go to the hospital no I don't think I need to go to the hospital they can come check you out you don't have to if you want there's anyone there that can give go go go go get her go get her by what how long is it open thece you sure just go get her go I I want to make sure you're okay I'm not leaving you go get the anet over here will'll walk you over them you don't have to go I don't I don't they'll just have you sign a refusal form and that's it all right it's going to be an aramatic I think but she's not going to want to go um obviously you'll see cuts at her hands but issu is upside down in the car so yeah there's a little bit of blood in the car so yeah this doesn't mean she's going to the hospital she wants to refuse to go she got go yeah I mean well she obviously hit the tree and cars nowadays roll very easily that happen like oh yeah very easy very easily um again all depending on the speed um yeah I mean I don't know you know I'm not running with if it's not you don't think so I mean I it's one of those situations where I mean if she R I'm going to put her through test cuz I think that's the right thing to do um do you have hdn I do so you can put it through the test yeah I'll refresh I I mean I'll help do I don't want to like sound like a dick my kids got fastball I don't want to like run away from my wife yeah I don't want to sound like no no no you're not you're not uh I mean is she going to be here for 15 20 minutes probably 15 20 minutes right she's going to be evaluated by them she'll probably get cleaned up cuz she's got some blood uh and I've been transparent when she comes out if she goes to the hospital she goes to the hospital um if she comes out depending on how you know again I'm not cying I'm not prying but I'm going to probably put her yeah that's fine um they're in the house like I said I mean is at her normal State she seemed and I know she well we just got back to a trip so she's anxious F to begin I understand like all right no I understand she's not [Music] drinking that I'm not worried about but no right like I said I mean it's just I've been doing it I no no no she she's jittery Baseline but like for that to happen no I know she's not sleep for weeks yeah um so you can do what you can do I mean ultimately if we need to give her a ride home afterwards we can do that right down shoot I'm going to come back in 10 minutes I just know I don't want to sound like a but if she needs to call you she can call they'll always tell you to go get checked out um but if you don't feel that that's your right we call it a refused medical attention in RMA so if you don't feel you want to go but when you get home and you start hurting you can call us back we'll come back with the ambulance or your husband can give you a ride all right so uh Aller Skyler walk you over you need me to sign something you want to things happen patrolman wienberg started with the walk and turn test during the walk and turn test Natalie did not touch Heel To Toe on each step turned improperly and took an incorrect number of steps the second exercise was the one leg stand test during the one leg stand test Natalie failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion did not count in the correct sequence and put her foot down before the test was complete the final exercise was the horizontal gaze nystagmus hgn test during the hgn test patroman wienberg observed the lack of smooth Pursuit distinct and sustain nystagmus at maximum deviation and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45° oh he left okay I mean I'm stuck I if you need anything for me let me know oh is that why you're I wasn't I was wondering why you're I'm just test I tell you to do so you understand okay when I tell you to raise uh one leg either one approximately six inches off the ground Point your toe out and keep both legs straight or sorry keep both legs straight and your arms to your side okay I'm going to demonstrate for you right just like this you're going to count all loud 1 1,00 2 1,00 3 1,00 and so on down your foot we're looking down your foot 1 1 2 1000 before you start do you understand the instruction yes yes okay you're going to raise one foot 1 1,00 2 1,000 keep your arms to your sides looking down at your foot and count out loud Influence okay no unforunately you explain to I've been pretty transparent since I you know you got out of the car understand you were just on in a motor vehicle accident I can detect the odor of alcohol coming off of you I detected when I walked up to the vehicle due to your slow movements and you're you're staggering around and you're unbalanced you didn't pass any of the tests that officer Wittenberg just put you through so we are going to be placing you under arrest for driving while intoxicated okay we're going to transport you back to headquarters we're going to read you your rights we're going to go over the standard statement it's up to you if you want to uh provide breast samples or not but at this time due to the circumstances we cause to believe that you're under the influence of alcohol so at this time based on the motor vehicle accident the odor of alcohol and her inability to perform the field sobriety exercises satisfactorily Natalie was placed under arrest for operating Under the Influence her vehicle was impounded by klano Towing for a mandatory 12-hour hold under Jon's law patrolman wienberg placed her in handcuffs and transported her to the bton Township Police Department for further processing no please unfortunately you have to put your hands behind your back we'll pick all that up for you okay overhead here I'm trying to make it too tight for you right just relax your arms a little bit5 power over by St Claire now do you have anything else on you anything in your pockets just going to pat you down okay with the back of my hand all right I have nothing in my what's in uh this pocket right here I don't know you Che can see there probably maybe just a cig a lighter anything else H just two lighters okay I'll take those out we'll put on the breathalizer she I get that a lot um I understand this is a lot I just I'm I'm being real with you a second when was the last one she got uh two years ago okay um so what happens so we're going to go back to headquarters we're going to explain everything we I already read her her wres um you know we have a standard statement that basically says she's got yeah I mean that's a standard statement we read to that it basically explains that you're required by law however you do have the option to do it but if you do she killed doesn't do it she's guilty so that in the standard statement it explains if you don't provide PR same forces you're going to be found guilty of a refusal right which I don't know the uh penalty so I don't have3 Avenue yeah so we're going to explain all that to her um she has again if we come down to you know I don't want to say come down you're just going to be sitting in our lobby um but ultimately we can give you a call whenever [ __ ] all right I detected an once you left the ambulance it was a pretty strong odor from her breath and the way she walking around I mean I understand that she has a lot and I explained that to her and I Alco test results indicated a back level of 0.19% which was more than double the legal limit of 0.08% once they finish processing her Natalie was released to her husband pending her court appearance he signed the potential shery warning form on her behalf patroman wienberg issued her summonses for operating Under the Influence reckless driving careless driving and traffic on Mark [Music] Lanes don't know how that works I mean even for the release if you have to get a release you come to us basically it's a vehicle release saying but with a 450 or a DWI there's a 12-h hour minimum hold so you wouldn't be able to get the vehicle until tomorrow at 8 make sure they're all their book BS or anything yeah I mean and even if he bring he's going to bring it to the yard to his yard so if if you have to go in there and grab bags tomorrow or something he would allow you have access can he take it out can I allow him to take it out can I talk to him about uh now can we get the school back cuz then it's you know we have to cover our basis too if it's not alcohol then you know there might be other contributing circumstances which caused her to hit the tree um yeah I mean it's a possible you get arrest I mean she's under arrest now but ultimately Court would be the final deter like when she would go to court like she's not getting she would get released but I'm saying she Court would ultimately determine if she's going to be found guilty what I'm saying is if she's got a negative like alcohol right what happens if she she she's still going to get released she'll probably get charged with Reckless caress and the 450 the explanation will be you know it'll be explained at court um and then she lose her license not if she's not found guilty like if she's not you know what I additionally because the state is kind of gone it's not even that correct but I mean so you know we've gotten rid of all the alcohol pretty much and she snuck a drink what happens if she had one drink Natalie had previously been arrested for DWI in Fairfield New Jersey on March 2nd 2022 court records for the DWI case in Bon Township indicate that on May 8th 2024 Natalie was found guilty of operating Under the Influence as a result of being found guilty Natalie's license was revoked for one year she had to use an ignition interlock device for 2 years and she had to spend two days at an intoxicated driver Resource Center she also had to pay a total of $890 in fines the other citations were dismissed as part of a plea agreement [Music] time St 20 minute observation oh this car's Rock
