It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: At around 2:55 PM on October 2, 2023, Patrolman Sean Ulversoy was doing a routine patrol on Brookrace Drive. He noticed a gray 2011 Toyota Camry parked in a grassy area by the lake. It seemed empty at first, but as he got closer, he saw a woman asleep in the driver's seat. The seat was reclined back, but her chest was rising and falling. Her eyes were closed, and the engine was on. When he looked on the passenger side, he spotted an open bottle of tequila on the floorboard. Ulversoy knocked on her window to wake her. She was slow to respond, first rolling down the back window and then the front. As he talked to her, he saw signs she was drunk. He asked her to do some quick tests, starting with her finger dexterity. Then he had her recite the alphabet from “F” to “T.” She couldn’t do it properly. He told her to get out of the car to check her further with field sobriety tests. Ulversoy began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. He noticed her eyes didn’t track smoothly. She also showed signs of nystagmus at maximum deviation and nystagmus starting before 45 degrees. Next, they did the Walk and Turn. She didn’t touch heel to toe properly, turned incorrectly, and kept her arms at her sides. The last test was the One Leg Stand. She failed to lift her foot correctly and put it down too early. Since she was asleep at the wheel, had the open bottle, and failed the tests, Ulversoy arrested her for driving under the influence. Her car was towed and held for at least 12 hours under John’s Law. She was taken to the Mendham Township Police Department first. Because their alkaline tester wasn’t working, she was sent to the Chester Police Department for a breath test. At Chester, she was read her rights and agreed to give breath samples. The test showed her BAC was 0.21%. That is almost three times the legal limit of 0.08%. After the test, she was brought back to Mendham Township PD. Once processing was done, she was released to a sober adult at 6:42 PM. The officers signed her Potential Liability Warning form. She received traffic tickets for DUI, reckless driving, and having an open container. Court records show that on February 15, 2024, Alexis pleaded guilty to DUI and open container. Her reckless driving charge was lowered to careless driving. Because of her plea, she had to put in an ignition interlock for three months. She also had to spend 12 hours at an alcohol resource center and pay a total of $1,020 in fines. 2:15 the nystagmus was strong... 2:56 just every type of person you’ve ever met 4:40 can you repeat the alphabet without singing 16:04 melissa McCarthy moment lol 21:30 My parents are going to kill me. 23:02 why arent you searching her trunk?
