On Thursday, February 29, 2024, Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Griffin Road in Dania Beach, Florida, after reports of two individuals walking dangerously close to traffic. What began as a simple safety intervention quickly escalated when one of the individuals refused repeated lawful commands, resulting in his detention. During the continued investigation, the second individual admitted that the driver's license he presented was not a legitimate government-issued ID, prompting officers to investigate the suspected use of fraudulent identification.
