Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 2:13 a.m. on August 25, 2024, Mantoloking Officer Andrew Gargaloni was patrolling Ocean Avenue when he saw a silver 2006 Toyota Highlander speeding south. While following it, he watched the driver swerve and drift from her lane. He turned on his emergency lights, and the driver pulled over. After notifying dispatch, Officer Gargaloni approached and identified her as 22-year-old Diona. As he spoke with Diona, Officer Gargaloni smelled alcohol. She provided her documents and said she had left Jenks Club in Point Pleasant Beach and was driving home. Another officer arrived to assist, and Diona was asked to complete field sobriety tests because of the suspected impairment. During the Walk and Turn test, Diona failed to touch heel-to-toe with each step and could not keep her arms at her sides. She then attempted the One Leg Stand test but could not raise her foot correctly. The test was stopped for safety reasons. Her erratic driving, the odor of alcohol, and her poor performance on the sobriety tests led to her arrest. Her vehicle was impounded for a 12-hour hold under John's Law. Officer Gargaloni took Diona to the Mantoloking Police Department for processing, where she read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators and agreed to provide breath samples. Lieutenant Gregory Popaca administered the Alcotest, which showed a 0.203% BAC, well above the legal limit of 0.08%. Once processing was complete, Diona was released to a sober adult while awaiting court. The adult signed the Potential Liability Warning on her behalf. Officer Gargaloni issued citations for driving under the influence, careless driving, failure to maintain marked lanes, and delaying traffic. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
