The officer stopped behind a Nissan Altima and got out. She spoke to a man. He said his girlfriend had crashed about 30 minutes prior. He found her using her phone's location. Jessica, the driver, sat in her boyfriend's truck. As she walked up to Jessica, she asked her what had occurred. Jessica thought she'd crashed head-on into another car. But her car's damage was mostly on the front passenger side. This made her story seem doubtful. Jessica told Officer Kopacz she was coming from Morristown. She needed her boyfriend to give her documents. Soon after, Sergeant Muta Blanford came to help. They thought Jessica might be impaired. They asked her to do sobriety tests. Sergeant Blanford began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Next came the Walk and Turn. Jessica struggled with this exercise. She didn't walk heel-to-toe. Her turn was wrong. She also lost her balance. The final test was the One Leg Stand. Again, Jessica had issues. She couldn't raise her foot right. She put her foot down too early. Jessica crashed her car. The strong smell of alcohol was obvious. She failed the roadside sobriety test. She was arrested because of this. Sergeant Blanford found a damaged utility pole after the arrest. It looked like Jessica’s Nissan Altima hit it. De Falco Automotive & Towing impounded her car. This was done per John’s Law for a 12-hour hold. Officer Kopacz took Jessica to the Chatham Township Police Department. There, she would be processed. Jessica stood at the station. Officers read her the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators. She agreed to give breath samples. Her Alcotest showed a BAC of 0.25%. It was more than triple the legal limit of 0.08%. Processing took a while. Finally, Jessica's parents arrived. Her mother signed the Potential Liability Warning. Then, Jessica was released to them. She now awaits her court date. Officer Kopacz issued several citations. These included operating under the influence and reckless driving. She also got citations for careless driving and property damage. Other citations included failure to report an accident and traffic on marked lanes. Jessica faced charges after an incident on February 12, 2024. Court records show she was guilty of two things. She was guilty of both OUI and careless driving, causing property damage. The judge ordered penalties due to the guilty verdict. She must use an ignition interlock for 3 months. Also, she must attend a resource center for 12 months. Jessica also had to pay $830 in fines. As part of a plea deal, the court dismissed three other citations. 4:42 when nobody is out there investigating 17:49 For anyone who thinks the Sargent correctly If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
