On July 11, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officer Haughney observed a vehicle go northbound in a southbound turn lane (against traffic) and conduct an illegal U-turn. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 59-year-old woman. She denied consuming alcohol, but admitted to smoking cannabis one hour earlier. As a result, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest. At the Rio Rancho Police Station, she refused to submit to a breath test. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
