Officer Patel arrived first and saw that a 2016 Nissan Juke had crashed into the front of the electric substation building, with significant front-end damage. He approached the driver, identified as Maria. Maria told Officer Patel she was in South Elgin, even though she was actually in St. Charles. Within minutes, Sergeant Bradley Schumacher arrived to investigate possible DUI. While talking to Maria, the sergeant noticed the smell of alcohol and signs of impairment. When asked where she was coming from, Maria said she had left a Christmas party and was heading home. She claimed she was at More Brewery in St. Charles, which does not exist. There is, however, a MORE Brewing Company in Bartlett, Illinois. Sergeant Schumacher asked if she had anything to drink that evening. She admitted to drinking two White Claws earlier. He then asked her to recite the alphabet from “W” to “D,” but she couldn’t do it. She also failed to count backwards from “58” to “37.” Since she was involved in a car crash and had consumed alcohol, the sergeant waited for the fire department to check on her. Maria declined transportation to the hospital. Once she was cleared, she performed field sobriety tests at the sergeant’s request. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, where the sergeant saw her eyes not tracking smoothly and experiencing nystagmus before 45 degrees. The second was the Walk and Turn test. She failed to touch heel-to-toe properly, turned incorrectly, and kept her arms at her sides. The third was the One Leg Stand. Maria didn’t lift her foot correctly and put it down before completing the test. Because of the crash, her admission to drinking, and her poor performance on the tests, Sergeant Schumacher arrested Maria for driving under the influence. She was handcuffed and placed in a patrol car. Officer Rentschler drove her to the police station for processing. At the station, Maria agreed to give breath samples. The breathalyzer showed her blood alcohol content was 0.238%. That is nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08%. After processing, she was released to a friend so she could appear in court later. Maria faces several charges. These include driving under the influence of alcohol, with a BAC of 0.08 or higher, improper lane use, failing to reduce speed to avoid the crash, and an expired registration. 1:39 lmfaooo 4:10 Kinda weird how that officer took over guys call. 7:14 All I can see is the Homer meme going in to the bushes... 11:32 Lmfao May have.. 14:47 I know she hit the house, but look just to the right of the house.. 24:00 2 or 4?? 47:50 yeah, my ears are buzzing If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
