On August 28, 2025, Las Cruces Police Officer Udero responded to a childcare facility after staff became concerned about the hostility of a parent. Officer Udero watched security footage and determined that the woman had assaulted one of the employees. He made telephonic contact with the woman to advise her that she was being trespassed from the facility and to tell her that a warrant would be issued for her arrest. She indicated that she wanted to speak in person with Officer Udero, so he responded to the woman's location. After making contact with the woman, she became argumentative and resisted when she was being placed in handcuffs. Because she had her two children with her, she was ultimately released with 2 criminal citations.
