Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 2:49 a.m. on August 9, 2025, Wildwood Police Officer Brooke Iacono responded to a motor vehicle crash at E. Burk Avenue and Pacific Avenue. After getting out of her patrol car, she saw an unresponsive man lying on the sidewalk. Wildwood firefighters arrived a short time later. Officer Iacono then spoke with the driver of a white 2017 Kia Forte, later identified as Roxanne Defrancisco. While Roxanne explained what had happened, Officer Iacono smelled alcohol and noticed other signs of impairment. She asked Roxanne to complete field sobriety exercises. The Walk and Turn test came first. Roxanne could not follow the instructions, so Officer Iacono stopped the test. During the One Leg Stand test, Roxanne did not raise her foot correctly and put it down before the exercise ended. The crash, odor of alcohol, and poor performance on the sobriety tests led to Roxanne's arrest for operating under the influence. She was taken to the Wildwood Crest Police Department for a breath test. Sergeant Sawyer administered the Alcotest, which showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.16%, twice the legal limit of 0.08%. Officer Iacono later transported Roxanne to the Wildwood Police Department for additional processing. Once that was complete, Roxanne was released to Erica Laub, who signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf. The bicycle crash victim was taken to ACMC for further treatment. Doctors determined that the victim had suffered a concussion and several abrasions. The Kia also did not have liability insurance coverage. Officer Iacono issued Roxanne these citations: Operating under the influence (39:4-50) Reckless driving (39:4-96) No liability insurance coverage (39:6B-2) Roxanne was later charged criminally with Assault by Auto (2C:12-1(c)). Court records show that Roxanne pleaded guilty to operating under the influence on April 9, 2025. Under the plea agreement, she had to install an ignition interlock device for seven months, spend 12 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center, and pay $690 in fines.
