🎥 In today's copyrighted documentary, we report on an incident that occurred in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 17, 2025. A driver who slammed into a stopped car at a red light — hard enough to send it across the lanes before his own vehicle crossed the median and ended up buried in a wall — turned out to be facing what records show is his seventh DWI. According to the people involved, several cars were waiting at the light when the vehicle came "full blast" from behind. Deputies and firefighters worked to free the driver — identified on camera as Lorenzo, an older driver — from his vehicle. Responders reported the odor of alcohol, red and glassy eyes, and trouble standing; a relative noted he couldn't even get his own shoe on. Paramedics checked his blood sugar, found it near normal, and made clear it couldn't explain his condition. Lorenzo told deputies he'd had "two Bud Lights" about three hours earlier and insisted he wasn't driving. He declined field sobriety tests and repeatedly refused a portable breath sample, even after deputies offered alternative testing that didn't require him to walk, turn, or balance. Court records show Lorenzo had six prior DWI arrests, including a 2024 case he was awaiting trial on at the time. In June 2025 he entered a plea agreement and pled guilty to both the pending 2024 DWI and the DWI from this incident — both felonies. In September 2025, a judge sentenced him to six months of house arrest. While this case was treated as his sixth offense, records show it is actually his seventh DWI conviction.
