A white 2014 Nissan SUV had crashed into the airport’s perimeter fence. While officers were on their way, the caller mentioned that the driver had turned around and was driving north on Passaic Avenue. The caller stayed close to the white Nissan until the police arrived. The car broke down at 350 Passaic Avenue, and soon after, Fairfield police showed up. They saw a woman get out of the vehicle. She was later identified as 29-year-old Laura Godlesky. Officer Sickles suspected that she might be drunk, but she denied drinking any alcohol before the crash. Officer Sickles suspected that Godlesky was intoxicated and gave her a chance to take field sobriety tests. During the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, he noticed that her eyes did not move smoothly. He saw signs of nystagmus in both eyes, even before they reached a certain angle. He recorded six clear signs of intoxication. Godlesky struggled to walk heel-to-toe during the Walk and Turn test and could not keep her balance during the One Leg Stand Test. After struggling with the field sobriety tests, Godlesky was arrested. At the Fairfield Police headquarters, she agreed to take a breath test. The results showed her blood alcohol content was 0.20%, more than double the legal limit. Because of this, Godlesky received multiple court summonses. These included charges for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failing to report the accident, not maintaining her vehicle’s equipment, not having her driver’s insurance card, reckless driving, careless driving, delaying traffic, obstructing her windshield, driving an unsafe vehicle, and making an illegal U-turn. When she called her boyfriend's mother to come and pick her up, she refused to sign the Potential Liability Warning forms to assume responsibility for Godlesky. Afterwards, Godlesky was able to get in touch with her mother, and she was eventually released to her mother after she signed the Potential Liability Warning forms on her behalf. 9:26 Is this a New Jersey thing? 26:33 the cop poses the middle finger in the steering wheel for some time. 52:45 One of my kids totaled their car, and they weren’t impaired. 1:01:52 It’s not unusual for someone to question themselves, 1:12:12 Hopefully some day soon they’ll come up with a faster way 1:14:18 HA HAA HAA 1:21:26 Lol wow. 1:22:06 Wow. 1:32:27 I guess they didn’t tell her who was out there?
