Meanwhile, Patrolman Antonio Flores, also off-duty, reported a black pickup truck driving dangerously on southbound Highway 36. Patrolman Hartsgrove spotted a vehicle that matched this description as it turned onto Kay Street from Bay Avenue. The driver then made a wide left turn onto Center Street. Hartsgrove decided to pull the vehicle over at the intersection of Center Street and Jackson Street. He approached the driver, who was identified as Jamie. While talking to Jamie, Patrolman Hartsgrove noticed the smell of alcohol and other signs that she might be impaired. Soon after, Patrolman Flores and SLEO II Michael Richards arrived to help. Jamie informed Patrolman Hartsgrove that she was on her way home and admitted to drinking before driving. She also mentioned that her brother is a police officer. Due to his concerns about her impairment, Patrolman Hartsgrove asked Jamie to step out of the car and do some field sobriety tests. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. Patrolman Hartsgrove noticed that Jamie's eyes weren't moving smoothly. He stopped the test early because Jamie didn’t follow his directions. Next was the Walk and Turn test. Jamie struggled here too. She didn’t touch heel-to-toe as she stepped and made an improper turn. The last test was the One Leg Stand. Jamie had trouble with this as well, not lifting her foot correctly and putting it down several times. Patrolman Hartsgrove arrested Jamie for driving under the influence after observing her erratic driving and smelling alcohol. Jamie admitted she had been drinking before getting behind the wheel. She struggled to perform the field sobriety tests. As part of John’s Law, her vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12 hours. She was then taken to the Highlands Police Department for processing. At the Highlands Police Department, Jamie was read the rules for drivers and agreed to take breath tests. The results showed her blood alcohol content was 0.209%, which is over twice the legal limit of 0.08%. Once the officers completed their paperwork, they released Jamie to a sober adult after that person signed a liability form on her behalf. Jamie received several summonses: operating under the influence, reckless driving, and failure to maintain her lane. 0:55 Says she had 2 drinks 7:50 i have never seen someone with such a down turned mouth 11:58 saddest fanny pack related incident i've seen 33:26 That's some serious error on the side of caution. 40:27 she's pouring her guts out crying and the other cop yawns If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
