On January 1, 2024, an officer conducting a routine patrol initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle registration that came back to a suspended revoked license in Martin County, Florida. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was later seen veering off of the road into a ditch. The approaching officer noted a female passenger and an open driver side door. Officers, alongside K-9 Groll began their search and the suspect was taken into custody. The officers discovered approximately 8 grams of cocaine in the passenger's purse alongside the 6 grams of cocaine located next to the passenger side of the vehicle. As a result, the passenger was charged with possession of a controled substance without a prescription. The driver was issued a criminal citation for fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, driving on a suspended/revoked license with knowledge, and resisting arrest without violence.
