When Officer Brinkley arrived, he learned the trooper had just pursued a vehicle that crashed in the intersection. The driver had already been detained, but an armed passenger had fled toward the nearby Peddler’s Mall and Walmart. The suspect was described as a male wearing an orange shirt. Officer Brinkley quickly redirected from the collision and headed to Walmart, entering through the tire center. After speaking with several customers who pointed him toward the suspect’s last location, Brinkley began searching the crowded store. During the search, he discovered an orange shirt discarded in an aisle, suggesting the suspect had changed his appearance. Moments later, Officer Brinkley spotted the man running toward the front of the store and pursued him on foot. The suspect ignored commands and ran outside, reaching into his waistband. He then forced his way into a woman’s minivan in the pharmacy drive-thru and attempted to carjack her. Body-camera video shows the suspect trying to accelerate the vehicle and shift it into gear while holding a firearm. As the engine revved, Officer Brinkley approached the vehicle. When the suspect continued his attempts to drive away and manipulate the gear shifter, Officer Brinkley fired multiple rounds through the front windshield, striking the suspect. The victim escaped safely while Brinkley moved in and secured the suspect. Backup officers arrived shortly afterward, removed the suspect from the vehicle, and provided medical aid. A realistic replica handgun was found in the suspect’s pants pocket, and a real handgun was recovered from the vehicle’s floorboard. The carjacking victim was unharmed. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Randall Allen, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital. He faces multiple charges, including: • Robbery (1st Degree) • Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon • Wanton Endangerment (1st Degree) • Fleeing or Evading Police (2nd Degree) • Unlawful Imprisonment (1st Degree) • Possession of Methamphetamine • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia • Resisting Arrest Disclaimer: This video is presented for educational, documentary, and informational purposes only.
