It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On January 4, 2025, around 10:48 PM, Officer Shane Daly from the Verona Police Department rushed to Lakeside Avenue near Bloomfield Avenue. A call had come in about a car crash. He pulled up and saw a 2023 Honda HR-V smashed into a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. Daly first talked to the Honda's driver, a woman named Sulah Lee. Then he heard the Hyundai driver's side of the story. Sergeant Aaron Seubert and Officer Marcos Czupak showed up soon to help out. While chatting with Sulah, the officers spotted signs she might be drunk. She admitted to three drinks that night. Suspicious, they asked her to step out and do sobriety tests. Sergeant Seubert began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Next came the Walk and Turn. Sulah missed heel-to-toe steps, turned wrong, and didn't get back to start. Last was the One Leg Stand. She didn't lift her foot right and dropped it too soon. The crash, her alcohol confession, and the failed tests led to her arrest for driving while impaired. Her car got towed for a 12-hour hold under John's Law. The other driver just drove off. Officer Czupak and Sergeant Seubert took Sulah to the Cedar Grove Police Department next. They read her the standard statement for drivers. She agreed to a breath test. It showed 0.20% blood alcohol—twice the 0.08% limit. Once done, they let her go to a sober friend, after signing a liability warning. She waited for court. Officer Daly handed her these tickets: operating under the influence (39:4-50), reckless driving (39:4-96), careless driving (39:4-97). Court papers show that on June 5, 2025, Sulah pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. She paid $383 in fines. The other two tickets vanished in the plea deal. 13:00 Drunk lady: ”20/20” 18:57 well at least she knows what a right angle is.. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
