Uh she said she's coming she's going home from a night out. Didn't know where from and then she's going back home. Home is at Fort Le. I don't know where she's where she's coming from. Uh movements are a little slow, but I mean I can't like the eyes like blood or anything. I I can't >> I don't know if you want to talk to her. >> All right. [Music] >> Hello. >> Hi. >> How are you? >> Um, so I'm Sergeant Steart. I know you explained to my uh other officer. Can you just explain to me one more time what happened? When was your last drink? >> Sergeant Aaron Subert and Officer Marcos Chupik arrived on scene to assist shortly afterwards. As the officers were speaking with her, they observed indicators of impairment. Sula acknowledged having free drinks earlier that evening. Based on the officer's suspicion of impairment, Sula was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises. >> Okay. Uh, what did you have the drink? >> Tequila. >> Tequila. Was she parked in front of you or was she traveling in front of you? >> She was in front of me and I the end of her. That's it. >> Right. But I just want to know how we have to write an accident report. We have to be pretty detailed. What what exactly happened for the insurance companies? So, can you tell me where she stopped in traffic? Was she driving in front of you and then stopped? Like just what happened? I guess she thought that like I was tailgating her and then I stopped. >> Okay. >> She stopped and then I bumped her. >> Okay. So, if you stopped and she stopped, how did you guys end up rear ending? How did you end up rear ending her? >> What do you mean? I stopped and then she came up to me saying, "Hey, you re-ended me." >> Okay. So, I don't want to put words in your mouth. I just want to get your account of it. So, as you were coming down, right, you said she was traveling in front of you. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, she stopped in traffic or at the light. >> Yeah. And then I reentered. >> Reanded her. Okay. Okay. >> Um, did you see her slow down or just you didn't stop in time? >> I don't know. want to just >> you remember handed her. That's it. >> Okay. All right. Just one moment. We've written down all your paperwork. We'll be right with you. Everything written down. >> I need her phone number. Uh Daily said I was going to get their their phone number. Da said he has a fun car. So, I'm going to get hers. >> Okay. >> Well, we'll hold on for that. Um how does her plate come back? The one the white hatchback Honda. Everything came back fine. >> She's a yo. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um we're going to have to test her. So, >> all right. >> Um still hold on to this. >> Yeah. Just need to put the paperwork in there for now. All right, ma'am. So, um, because we went into an accident today because the first state is how you're driving and the fact you did have alcohol. So, we're just going to do some tests to make sure you're okay to drive today. Okay. >> Okay. Do you mind stepping out of the car? You can walk back there on the sidewalk by my other officer. Um, we're going to do SFSTs. Do you mind finishing this out of the accident? She can go when she's done. >> Yeah. Yeah. No, I think >> All right. Uh, what other observations you have? just heard driving radically. >> 280 about a mile before the exit. She was in and out of traffic almost hit her car. >> Uh she was stopped a little bit further back. She like she was observing her in the car in the rearview mirror like head going down. Car would let go and stop. Don't stop. She kept the engine forward and then ultimately the car with her kn off hit her. >> Okay. All right. Um, I want to go over there. [Music] Dispatch, you can come stand over here. We're reconducting SOS. >> All right. Here's fine. So, here. Stand there. Stand there. You can stop. All right. Turn around. Face me. Can you turn off the rear lights? Just put on the uh cruise lights. Same thing with Dy's car. So, um, have it was just alcohol today. You have anything else to take? No. >> No. >> Okay. I know it's a little cold. Do you have a heavier jacket you can put on or no? >> This jacket >> heavy. Okay. >> Um, are you a diabetic at all? >> No. >> No. What's your highest level of education? >> Uh, 2020. >> No. Highest level of education. Did you go to high school, college? Technical school, college. Okay. So, bachelor's in college. >> No. >> Okay, take one step back. You're off the crack. >> Sergeant Subert started with the horizontal gaze nestagmas HGN test. The second exercise was the walk and turn test. During the walk and turn test, Sula did not touch heel to toe on each step, turned improperly, and did not return to the starting position. The final exercise was the one leg stand test. During the one leg stand test, Sula failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and put her foot down before the test was complete. >> All right, turn face me. Just going to test your eyes. Do you wear any glasses or contacts? >> No. >> No. Okay. So, get my flashlight up here. Just want you to follow the pen. So, I want you to follow the tip of the pen with your eyes and your eyes only. Don't move your head. Okay. >> Okay. >> Can you touch the tip of the pen with the tip of your finger? Okay. Follow with your eyes and your eyes only. Don't move your head. >> Okay. Just try and keep your head straight like head facing me. Just move your eyes. >> I know. Again, just try and keep your head straight. Don't move your head. Just move your eyes and your eyes only. [Music] Please don't move your head. Just keep move your eyes and your eyes only. [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Okay, last one. We're just going to go up and down. Okay, just keep your head still with Move your eyes and your eyes only. Just keep your head still. Keep your chin down. Just move your eyes and your eyes only. Okay. Um, the next test is to walk and turn. >> Walk and turn. Okay. >> Yeah. Are you able to walk down here? It's a little flatter down there. >> Where? >> Just down here. This path down here. We're going to walk to uh not through the trees, but >> where? >> Over here. This way. >> Oh, I got heels. >> Do you want to take them off? >> I have heels. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Watch out for this crate. Okay. So, right here, you can face me. So, do you have any problems with your uh uh legs? Any injuries to your legs or lower back? No. >> Okay. Um what I'd like you to do, I'm going to get you into the starting position and I'm going to explain the test. Okay. So, can you please take your hands out of your pockets and take the scarf off or at least wrap it up so it's you don't have to walk anywhere yet. You can take the scarf off or at least wrap it up so you're not so you don't get tripped up. [Music] >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to get you in the starting position. I want you to imagine there's an imaginary line starting from your feet going all the way out. Okay? You don't have to start walking down. I'm still explaining it. What I would like you to do is put your left foot on the imaginary line, your right foot and touching uh in front of it touching heel to toe. >> Oh my. So again, I want you to put your left foot on the imaginary line, your right foot in front of it touching heel to toe. Okay. So, that's the starting position. I want you to stay in that position while I explain the instructions. Don't begin until I tell you to. Okay? >> Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, from the starting position, when I tell you to begin, you're going to take nine heel totoe steps along the line. It's going to look like this. One, two, three. I took three steps. You're going to take nine. On your ninth step, you're going to keep your front foot planted. And with your rear foot, take a series of short steps to turn around. And then you're going to take nine heel totoe steps back along the line. One, two, three. I took three. You're going to take nine. >> Okay. >> Do you understand? >> Yeah. >> All right. While you take your steps, I would like you to count your steps out loud. I would like to keep you to keep your hands by your side, and if at any time you step off the line, just pick up where you left off. All right. >> All right. You can begin. One, two, one, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. That way. 1 2 3 4 5. >> Okay. So, this last test is just going to be a balance test. Okay? If you just stand right here, face me. Uh, keep your hands by your side. So, when I tell you to begin, don't start yet. When I tell you to begin, you're going to lift one leg up or one foot up. Either one of your choice. Okay? Okay, it's going to look like this. When you lift your leg up, I want you to keep your leg straight, your toe pointed forward, and you're going to lift your foot up approximately 6 in off the ground. Okay? Just like this. So, when I tell you to begin, you're going to lift your leg up. And you're going to count out loud. 1,00 1,002 1,003 and so on until I tell you to stop. >> Okay? >> Okay. Again, I would like you to count out loud. Keep your raised leg straight and your foot approximately six inches off the ground. Okay. >> Okay. Do you understand? >> Yeah. >> All right. [Applause] Okay. You can begin. One. >> Try and keep your hands by your side. Or >> please keep your hands by your side. >> Okay. Hold on. Okay, you can stop. Uh, I understand. Um just based on totality of circumstances, everything including the test, um you're going to be placed under arrest today for driving under the influence. Okay. So you please put your hands behind your back. >> Based on her motor vehicle crash, her admission to consuming alcohol, and her inability to satisfactorily complete the field sobriety exercises, Sula, who was placed under arrest for DWI, after she was placed under arrest, her vehicle was impounded for a 12-hour hold. According to John's law, the other driver was able to drive away from the scene. Can >> you please put your hands behind your back? >> Really? >> Yeah. >> Based on her statements, her observations, and then what I saw today with the testing. [Applause] Okay. >> So, uh, we just have to bring you in and process you real quick. We'll explain everything in a second. We have your shoes and your scarf up there. >> Really? Yeah. >> Sorry. This just got tangled up in your sleeve here. [Music] >> All right. Um, you have your keys? >> Yeah. Can I have them? Just going to walk I want to walk up the hill. Just walk her straight out. Pull the car around. >> I'll be out here. >> What? >> He's We're going to walk you straight up. We're going to put you in the back of the car. >> Yeah. Just come with me. >> Never said weird. >> It's all right. I understand. Just follow me, please. If we go left over here. Come on. I've never This is so weird. >> Not yet. >> All right. Do you have anything on you that'll >> poke me, stick me, anything like that? At least soft. [Applause] >> At least soft. Like it's so weird. >> It's in your pockets. If you need to use the back of your hand, your hand. [Music] I'm going to use the back of my hand to just swipe. Make sure there's nothing there. >> Can you get this off? No, the cups aren't moving. [Applause] [Music] I'm going to use the bathroom. Cheers. [Music] >> All right. Um, she's good. Have her jeans either. >> No, nothing jeans. Just have a seat in there. [Music] Where is she? >> Do you need anything from me in the meantime? >> Frank, we're good. We'll take a new one. Seven. You call me out on Newman. >> Let me see. Hey, Newman. We're good to go. >> Transform here, bro. Trunk closed. >> Yeah. Did you ever transport somebody in general? >> No. >> So, we should go to dispatch a dispatch transporting one adult female in custody. We're explaining the situation uh from this location to Cedar Grove headquarters. starting miles and give where your miles are. >> So, suspicion of DUI. >> No, I just uh transporting one adult female in custody from this location to see Grove headquarters. Her alco test results indicated a back of 0.2% which was more than double the legal limit of 0.08%. After they were finished processing Sula, she was eventually released to a sober adult, pending her court appearance after they signed the potential shared lady warning on Sula's behalf. >> Can't you back any further? That's enough room. Come over there. [Applause] What's up? >> Oh, I'm going to let him know here. >> Officer Dailyaly issued Sula the following traffic citations. Operating under the influence 39450. Reckless driving 39 to496. Careless driving 39 for 97. >> Yep. [Applause] >> If you give me the mileage. >> Yeah. And the miles will be 62785. Let's see. We'll [Music] get some fresh shoes. I don't have shoes. Court records indicate that on June 5th, 2025, Sula was found guilty of operating under the influence. As a result, she had to pay a total of $383 in fines.
