#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On 05/04/2023, Officers were dispatched to the AutoZone in reference to a domestic disturbance between two customers. The caller was still on scene and the other party left in a silver Kia SUV. Officer made contact with the victim who was the caller. He explained to the officer that his wife and he went to AutoZone to purchase light bulbs for their vehicle. He was in the parking lot when he noticed another vehicle, later determined to be a Kia Sorento, parked in a handicap parking space with no permit. When the occupants of the Kia returned to their vehicle, he asked them if they have a permit to park there. They got disorderly with him and the suspect cussed him out. The victim said the Kia was in the process of leaving but then the suspect got out and approached him. The suspect continued to cuss him out. The victim took out his cellphone and started recording the suspect. He then slapped his cellphone off of his hands where the phone landed on the ground. The suspect then kicked his cellphone before driving off. The victim said there are some damage to his phone that was not there before and he wants to press charges for simple battery since the suspect slapped his hands and Criminal Trespass for damaging his phone. The officers looked at the phone and it has cracks on the screen, but it was still working. Officers also watched the video that the victim took and it recorded the back of the Kia. The phone then tumbled around and landed on the ground. It recorded the suspect kicking the phone where it tumbled some more. One of the AutoZone employees witnessed the incident and he confirmed the story. While officer met with the victim. Another officer made contact with the Kia across the street at Advanced Auto Parts. The suspect gave officers a false name. He confessed to officer later that he gave a false name because he knew he have some warrants for his arrest. The suspect did not speak with officers about the incident but his girlfriend who was inside the vehicle did. Her story was consistent with the victims except that the victim held the phone in their face and that he did not have permission to record them.
