On September 2, 2024, Lakewood Police Officer Billman observed a vehicle weaving and drifting left into the opposite lane of traffic. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 25-year-old woman. The woman admitted to consuming one beer and to having an unloaded firearm in the glovebox of the vehicle. As a result, she and her 2 passengers were removed from the vehicle. The driver was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). One of the passengers received a minor misdemeanor citation for having an Open Container of alcohol in the vehicle. The police report indicates that the driver refused to submit to an evidential breath test at the police station. Her charges and the outcome of the case are discussed at the end of the video.
