He turned on his emergency lights to pull the car over. The driver stopped on Sherida Road near 104th Street. When Officer Burnside approached the vehicle, he identified the driver as 21-year-old Madison. He asked her where she had been, and she replied that she was coming from her boyfriend’s house. Madison later mentioned that she worked as a correctional officer for Milwaukee County. Officer Burnside was talking with Madison when he noticed a strong smell of alcohol. He saw other signs that she might be impaired. He asked her how much she had to drink. Madison admitted she had a Mike’s Hard Lemonade earlier that night. He then went back to his patrol car to check her details in the system. Another officer arrived to help. Suspecting she might be impaired, he asked Madison to do some field sobriety tests. The first field sobriety test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. Officer Burnside noticed that Madison's eyes did not move smoothly. He saw clear signs of nystagmus when her eyes reached the maximum side angle. However, he did not see any vertical nystagmus. The second test was the Walk and Turn. Madison struggled with this exercise. She failed to touch heel-to-toe as required, turned incorrectly, and relied on her arms for balance. The last test was the One Leg Stand. Madison did not raise her foot properly and put it down before finishing the test on both tries. After finishing the field sobriety tests, Madison was asked to take a preliminary breath test (PBT). The results showed her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.174%. Given her erratic driving, signs of impairment, admission to drinking, and poor performance on the tests, along with the PBT results indicating she was over the legal limit, Madison was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI). Officer Tiffany Diaz arrived to search the area and placed Madison in Officer Burnside's patrol car. After securing Madison, Officer Diaz checked her vehicle and discovered an open, empty 16-ounce container of Mike’s Hard Lemonade. Once she completed the search, Officer Diaz stayed on site until Madison’s mother came to pick up the vehicle. Officer Burnside took Madison to the Pleasant Prairie Police Department for further processing. The Intoximeter showed her blood alcohol content was .11. Once processing was complete, she was allowed to go home with her mother, who took responsibility for her. Madison received several citations: Operating While Intoxicated (1st offense), Operating with a Blood Alcohol Concentration Greater than .08, and Exceeding Speed Limit by 30-34 MPH. 8:31 Woman is getting tested for DUI... 13:24 I wonder what she would do If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
