Let me get my driver's license. >> It's locked in here. >> Okay. So, what what's the deal with the lights? >> Um, they're broken. >> Okay. Yeah, cuz I saw you didn't have any headlights. Um, and then right here you turned into the wrong lane. Were you distracted or something? >> Yeah, my friend was calling me and I was telling her I was declining her basically and I was just like spamming my phone. >> Okay. You said your lights don't work at all. >> Well, I just turned them on now. Well, I just turned them off but not >> Okay. Well, they I I don't know. It's weird cuz when you came through the intersection, your tail lights were on, but your lights weren't on. Um 228. >> Well, they're on now. So, >> I am Where are you headed >> home? 3 minutes. I have the >> How much have you How old are you? You're 20, right? >> Yeah. >> How much have you had to drink tonight? >> Actually, nothing. My friend blacked out and I drove it home and now I'm going home. >> Okay. You haven't had anything to drink? >> Um I had like one drink at 7, but >> Well, that's I I smell. Go ahead and sit back here and talk to me for a minute. >> Yeah, of course. >> 28 central. I'm going be out on a signal one check. Come on. So, where do you live here in Athens? >> My street. >> So, you're on you live on this street. Where do you live? Like in apartments or at a sorority house or >> No, I live in the house. >> Okay. And you're headed back. Where are you coming from? >> I I'm coming from Well, I guess you wouldn't know. >> No, I would I wouldn't know cuz I'm not there. That's just why I'm asking. And I was just asking where you're coming from. >> Oh, yeah. I'm coming from Fiji. Do you know like the frat? >> Okay. No, you were at a frat party tonight. >> No, I wasn't. But I like stayed there for a while. >> Okay. >> There was no party, but like I just like stayed there. >> Okay. So, you said you had one drink about 700 p.m.? >> Yeah. >> So, you haven't had anything more recent than that? >> No. >> Okay. Well, what I want to do is I want to make sure that you're safe to drive this vehicle. >> Yeah. Fine. The the way I can do that is uh there's a few things I walk you through a few tests I have you do. Are you willing to do that? >> Yeah, of course. >> Okay. Um have you had any recent head injuries? >> No. >> Okay. Do you wear contacts? >> I do. >> Okay. Do you have them in? >> I do. >> They're the Are they the soft kind or the hard kind? >> I don't even I wear I wear 4.5. >> Okay. So, I think they're the soft contact. They don't even make the uh >> Yeah, I have like I have pretty bad eyesight. So, >> all right. Well, turn towards me. Uh, >> so just put your feet together. I'm just >> Do you want Do you want to hold my keys? >> I'll just set them down right here for now. >> So, all I'm going to do right now is I'm just going to look at your eyes. Okay. >> All right. >> I'm going to have you just put your feet together. Put your arms at your side. Stay just like that. Okay. >> Okay. >> Putting that there so I don't lose it. All right. Just follow my pen with your eyes and your eyes only. Keeping your head still. Okay. >> Okay. >> No, just your head. Just your eyes. Sorry. Yeah. Just move your eyes. >> Yeah. Just move your eyes. I'm just making sure they follow together. >> All right. That's all I'm doing is making sure they follow together. Okay. Just like that. Just keep your head still. Just move your eyes. Okay. >> All right. >> Try to keep your head still. I know it's hard. Just move your eyes. >> Sorry. It's all right. It's It's instinct. >> I know. Just move your eyes. It's fine. Just your eyes. There. There you go. No need. >> Okay. Can I take my eyes off this? >> Almost. All right. Almost done. All right. Straight up. >> Head down. That's fine. Sorry. Just >> All right. One more time. >> All right. You have any problem with your knees, ankles, anything like that? Can you walk a straight line? >> Yeah, I can walk a straight line. Try. Okay. So, what I'm going to >> I sprain my ankle like seven times, but >> but do you have generally trouble walking a straight line? >> No. >> Okay. What I want you to do is I want you to Let's back up like a few steps. >> Yeah, of course. >> All right. Right there is good. >> Okay. >> For now, what I want you to do, you're not actually going to walk yet, but you're going to pretend there's a line in front of you. Okay. There's not, but you can pretend. Okay. You're going to take your left foot, put it on a line, and take your right foot in front of it, touching heel to toe, and arms at your side, and stop. Well, for now, just get in the position. So, left foot down, right foot in front of it, heel to toe, just like this. Stay like that. Okay. Put your arms at your side. Put your right foot in front. Can you do like I'm doing? >> Yeah. I just have really bad coordination, but I'm trying to be like fun. >> Okay. Do you you don't have to do this. Do you want to try it or not? >> Well, what do you mean I don't have to do it? >> I you you don't have to do this. I'm just asking. I mean, if you don't think you can do this, it's your choice. But I'm asking >> I can do it. I just have bad coordination. What do you mean I don't have to do it? >> You don't have to do this. You don't have to do what I'm asking you to do. These are voluntary. So, what I'm saying is if you don't think you can do this, you don't have to. >> No, I can do it. I'm just saying like I'm like not >> ported. Okay. Well, that's fine. A lot of people aren't. So, take your left foot le put your right foot in front of it. Heel to toe. And stay just like that. Okay. So, when I ask you to uh Yeah, just like that. But no, don't start yet. Don't start yet. So, for now, >> leave your left foot where it is. Take No, let Leave your left foot where it is. >> Take your right foot, put it in front of it. >> Heel to toe. Stay just like that. Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, watch what I do. I'm going to ask you to take nine heel to toe steps down this line. Uh, turn like I show you. Take nine heel to toe steps back. It's going to look like this. One, two, three, except you go all the way to nine. After your ninth step, use your back foot to make a series of small steps to turn yourself around and then take nine steps back the other direction. As you do this, you need to watch your feet, count out loud, keep your arms at your side, and don't stop walking at any time. >> Can I tie my shoe now that you asked me? >> Yes, you can tie your shoe. >> Well, this one's easier to tie. This is a little bit This is a little bit embarrassing to admit, but I think it's cool when I have untied shoes. So, give me >> Okay, that's fine. >> I put through. Oh, don't fall. All right. >> All right. >> Okay. Here. Hold on. Let me let me put this in so you at least don't trip on it. >> Basically, the end of the shoe, it can't go in the hole because it's like straight. >> Okay. Well, I'm going to show you this one more time since we took a little break. Okay. You got to get in the position. Leave your left foot where it is. Take your right foot and put it in front of it touching heel to toe. Arms at your side. Stay just like that. You're going to take nine heel to toe steps down. Turn like I show you. Nine back. One. Two. three, except you walk all the way to ninth. After the ninth step, leave your front foot where it is. Use your back foot to make serious small steps. Turn yourself around and take nine steps back the other direction. Watch your feet. Count out loud. Keep your arms at your side and don't stop at any time. Do you understand? >> All right, I'm down. >> Do you understand? >> Of course I understand. >> If you understand, go ahead. >> Count. >> Yeah, I'm counting out loud. >> Yes. >> All right. Here. >> Do you want to start again? >> Yeah. >> All right. >> Why nobody's counting out loud? Left foot on the line. >> One, two. >> Arms at your side. >> Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Three. >> 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. >> Am I supposed to keep going? >> Yeah. Turn like I showed you. >> Oh, sorry. >> Take nine steps back the other direction. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. >> Okay, that's fine. All right, come over here. One more thing. Uh, you think you can balance on one foot? >> Yeah, I can. >> Okay, I'm going to show you. This is the one last thing I'm going to ask you to do. Okay. >> Can I do my left foot on the lefty? >> You can do whichever one you want. So, okay. >> So, for now, just put your arms together down. Feet arms stay just like that. When I ask you to, not yet, but when I ask you to, I'm going to ask you to pick one of your feet. Doesn't matter which one. You're going to pick it up. You're going to hold it about 6 in off the ground like this. You're going to look at your toe and you're going to count 1,00 1,002 1,003 so on and so forth. You see what I'm doing? You see about how and then you're going to keep counting. No, not yet. Not yet. >> So, like I said, I'm going to tell you when to begin. So, just watch what I'm doing. Okay? You'll pick one of your feet. 1,00 1,002 1,003 100,004 so on and so forth. Arms at your side. Okay. Now, if you happen to put your foot down, you just pick it up and keep going. Okay. You think you can do that? >> Of course. >> Okay. You count out loud. You watch your feet. Keep your arms at your side. Okay. Hold on. I'll tell you when to go and you go. You you you keep it up there until I tell you to stop. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. You ready? Get in the ready position. All right. Begin. >> 100,00 1,002 100,00 >> Okay. Keep keep going. >> What am I going What number am I going to >> Until I tell you to stop. >> Okay. >> 1007 1008 1009 1,0123 1 1400 >> All right. >> All right. That's fine. That's good enough. That's good. >> 186 2017. >> No. No. That's Stop. Hey. So So you told me before that you only had one. What what was the one drink you had about 7:00? >> I had a high noon at about 7:00. >> Okay. And that's all you've had? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Based on what I'm seeing, what I'm smelling from your breath, I I don't believe that to be true. Okay. I I do think you've drank too much to be safely operating a vehicle. Okay. So, with that being said, I am going to place you under arrest for DUI. Okay. Can I >> So, what you need to do is you need to put your No, put your arms behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. You are being placed under arrest for DUI at this time. Okay. Um, >> you have my ID, right? >> Yes, I have your ID. Um, so like I said, you are under arrest for DUI and I'm about to read you something in a second about the DUI. Now, do you have any sober friends that can come get your car? >> Yeah. >> They haven't been drinking. Well, do you Well, the reason I ask is cuz if you don't have a sober friend that can come get your car, I might have to tow it. But we'll we'll think about that in a minute. Come over here real quick. Just sit on the front of my car. >> Is there any possible way I can get out of this? Is there any possible way? >> No. I I I believe that you are not safe to be operating the vehicle, so you're not going to be able to get out of it. Okay. But there's more to this. So, I need to read you something. >> Is it over $1,000? There's no money right now. There's no monetary amount. That's not a concern. >> I I don't want I don't want a jail picture. I don't want to >> I understand it. It sucks. But >> you have been arrested for DUI and you I want to confirm this. You are 20 years old, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I need to read you something. I need you to listen to me. Okay. >> The state of Georgia. >> Am I going to die? >> Why are you going to die? >> And I'm Am I going to get >> No, hold on. Just listen to me and I'll tell you everything that's going to happen. am I don't even know. I forgot. What's your first name? >> Amelia. >> Amelia. >> No. Please, please, please. >> So, Ameilia, I need you to listen to me, okay? >> Yeah, I do. Please, please, please, please, please. >> But just listen to me real quick. Please, please. >> Would you listen to me? I have to read you this, okay? >> The state of Georgia has conditioned your privilege to drive upon the highways of this state upon your submission to state administered chemical test of your blood, breath, urine, or other bodily substances for the purpose of determining if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you refuse this testing, your Georgia driver's license or privilege to drive on the highways of this state will be suspended for a minimum period of one year. Your refusal to submit to blood or urine testing may be offered into evidence against you at trial. If you submit to testing and the results indicate an alcohol concentration of 0.02 g or more, your Georgia driver's license or privilege to drive on the highways of this state may be suspended for a minimum period of one year. After first submitting to the required state test, you're entitled to additional chemical test of your blood, breath, urine, or other bodily substances at your own expense and from qualified personnel of your own choosing. Will you submit to the state administered chemical test of your breath? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you'll go take a breath test. Okay, we'll go do that. Um, >> wait. No, please. I cannot. >> Well, we're going to go take a breath. >> I can't afford it. I can't afford it. >> Listen, we'll worry about all that. >> No, I can't afford it. I don't I don't want to get like reached in jail. I don't want that's not Listen, if if you end up going to jail, you will be separated. No one You won't be by >> You won't be by any men. I promise you that. >> Please, please. If >> if that's what ends up happening, you won't be by any men. Um and I'll walk you through I'll tell you how everything is going. >> I need to close my door because >> Well, we're going to do that in a minute. But but here's here's the thing. We got to figure out what we're going to do with your car. Now, there's a couple things. It is parked on a yellow curb. Uh, we can leave it here. You might get a ticket. >> Well, I don't want to get a ticket because I'm already getting a ticket right now. >> That would be a parking ticket. Uh, I don't really know where we can move it, though, is the thing cuz these are private. Do you have any friends that you think are sober that can come get it? >> Well, you guys pulled me over on a yellow street, so someone has to move it. >> Well, I'm not didn't pull you over in a yellow street that we can do a couple things. We can tow it or we can call a friend to come get it. I don't think any of my friends are sober enough to call it. >> Do you now do you want anything out of your car? Do you want like your phone? >> Yeah, I'll take my phone. >> Okay. >> Am I allowed to have my phone? Can I call my mom? >> 22 28 central. Next in line. What What's What's in your What's the square thing in your shirt? >> My pocket. >> No, like on your shirt. There's like a square thing. >> Can you like >> Look, it's in your bra. I'm not going to >> Oh. Oh. >> Is that a phone? What is that? No, it's nothing. Is there an? >> No, >> it looks like >> it's my credit card. Just like >> It's like a square box. >> It's It's my credit card. >> Okay, that's fine. It just looks weird. All right, come sit back here. >> Huh? >> Do you want to transport or do you want I got to go take a breath? >> Just like drive it to like another curb. Wait, can I have my phone though? >> Yeah, I'll get your phone to go with you. >> I need to call my friends and tell them what's going on. >> Yeah, that's fine. and we will we will make all that happen. Okay. >> Am I going to am I going to die? >> No, you're not going to die. Just get in here for a minute. >> Are you sure? >> Yeah, I'm sure. >> I don't I don't want to go to jail. I don't want to get I don't want to meet people. >> Right now, we're just going to Right now, we're just going to to the police department to take a breath test. That's all we're doing right now. >> Just go ahead and get in there. >> Oh, this is uncomfortable. >> Yeah. Well, turn sideways if you have to. However you got to get comfortable. [snorts] All right, Amelia. You good? You good? >> I'm good. >> Hold on. Let me grab my stuff. All right. >> All right. Watch your step here. Stay right here. Just let me check my doors. All right. Come on. Watch your step. I'm scared. >> We're going into the police department. No. No. This way. This way. We're just going >> I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. We're going into the police department. >> You're scared to go inside of the police department. It's This is not the jail. >> I don't want to go in jail. >> This isn't jail. You're not going to jail right now. This is not the jail. This is the police department. Okay. It's just a >> Please do not be in jail. I can't. >> This is just a little >> too. I'm scared. >> All right. Well, hold on. >> This is just a downtown substation. No, I'm fine. >> I'm just I'm just nervous to go in jail. >> Okay. This is not the jail. This is the downtown substation. >> Can you come in here? >> All right. Have a seat. >> Hey, Officer Wexel, will you come get She's got something in her bra. >> Oh, no. >> She says it's credit cards or something. It's like something square. >> Is it still in there? Not. Did we arrest you this way? No, I wrote you a ticket, didn't I? Kind of silver dollar. >> What? Did you take it out? She had something square right there in her. >> I have my credit card. >> Oh, God. Please don't tell me I lost it. >> Well, it might have fell in the back of the car. >> Okay. >> Oh, you got >> Oh, that's what I thought it was. >> Is that your fake? No, it's not my fake. >> It's just a friend's >> Well, you have another ID that says you're over 21, but that's fine. Both of them aren't mine. >> Both of them are not yours. No, >> this is you, though. >> Is it because I took your other day? >> You're Amelia, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. Amelia, what's happening now? Is they're using the machine right now when they're done? >> I don't want to go to jail. I'm nervous. I'm >> Well, this is not jail. This is the police department. >> Weird thing. I don't want anyone I don't want to be like the weird people. >> Well, there's I'm the weirdest person here right now. You're not going to be around any weird people. I promise. >> I can't. I can't. I can't be with your people. >> So, here's what's going to happen. Okay, we're just waiting for the machine and then it'll be our turn and then I'm going to go into that machine. I'm going to put my name in the machine, your name in the machine, and then when it's time, I'll put tube on. You'll blow. You'll get two breath samples. Okay? And we go with whichever one is lowest. That's for you. Once it's done, I'll print it out. You'll know exactly what they say. Okay? And then we'll talk about what's going to happen after. I'm nervous. I don't want to go to jail. I'm nervous. >> Well, right now we're just here at the police department. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. Do me a favor. Now that he's vacated that chair, I'm going to have you come sit in that chair. Okay. >> Yeah, of course. >> Yep. Go sit in that chair. >> Oh, yeah. That's the opposite. >> All right. What I'm doing now, Olivia, I like or Amelia, I like to tell people what I'm doing. I'm about to enter our information into this machine. That's all I'm doing. All right, Ameilia. What's happening now is this machine is running itself through a set of checks and tests. Once it's ready, we'll go in. You'll give a breath sample. This is my certification card. This said, I went to a class that taught me how to use this machine. It's pretty idiot proof. Uh I put a tube on it and you blow. That's all it is. Like I said, you give two samples. We go with whichever one is lowest for your benefit. Now, I won't know what it says until after the second test. >> Is my life ruined? >> No, your life is not ruined. I'm not going to say this doesn't suck because it does. I've never been arrested, but I've arrested enough people to know it sucks. But I promise you, your life is not over. >> Am I never going to get a job? >> Uh, I'm fairly certain you can get a job with the DUI. We have police officers that work here that are police officers and they've had DUIs. So, it's not the end of the world. It sucks, but it's not the end of the world. All right. Like I said, once this test is over, I will tell we'll talk about everything. >> Okay. Well, you're about to get to stand up in a minute, so just >> All right. Come stand up. Stand up and come in here. >> Yeah, of course. What I'm doing, they're blue. If I were a future, they're green. >> I'm opening this breath tube. I'm going to put it on here. I need you to put your lips around just that part and give a deep breath and blow. You got to keep blowing. Keep blowing. Don't stop. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Almost there. There. That's good. That's a sample. We got a sample. You got to fill that blue thing up. All right. So, go have a seat. It's going to run itself through the test again and we'll take one more. >> Wait, can you take these off of me? They're giving me anxiety. >> I can't do that. Not right now. >> All right, go and stand up and come in here. >> All right, come stand in. Stand up. All right, give a sample just like last time. You got to fill up that blue thing. Okay. All right. >> Take a Yep. Take a breath. >> Ready? >> Yep. >> Keep blowing. Keep blowing. All right, it's good. >> All right, go have a seat. I'm going to print it out. We'll see what it says. >> All right. >> All right, they're printing out now and then we'll see what they say. 24. >> All right, Miss >> So, so listen, listen, listen. So you are 20. So the legal limit for you is 0.02. The legal limit for any driver is 0.08. Your results are a.243. You are three times the legal limit for an adult. So you had no business driving a car. So I'm going to take you to jail and I'm going to book you for DUI driving without lights. Okay? So here's here's what happens. You're not going to be put in a cell with the man. You're going to go in there. You'll get to use the phone. They'll take your fingerprints. They'll take your picture. You'll call somebody and you'll get to bond out. You might be in a holding cell with other drunk college girls, but you're not going to be anywhere with any murderers. I promise you. Uh if you can have somebody bond you out, you can be out within a matter of an hour or so. So, here's how. If you want, we can call your parents, they can call a bondsman, or you can try to call your friends. I'll help you do whatever we need to do to get you out. Okay, but you had a lot to drink tonight. You should not have been driving a car. Um, and you'll get a copy of this, but these are your results. The first time you blew. 256. Second time. 243. Okay. >> So, like I said, you are going to go to the Clark County Jail, but they will they will protect you. Okay. They won't let you. You're not going to >> You cannot get >> Well, you're going to get a mug shot. That's required. Everyone that goes to jail has to get a mug shot. I mean, that's not my rule. That's that's like the rule. >> They I really, really, really don't want a mug shot. Is there any way to get >> No, that's part of the process. >> Is there any way I cannot get it posted on anything? >> Uh, they don't always post them. >> If you just if you if you just take a normal picture and don't smile or do anything crazy, >> can you tell can you tell the person to not post it anywhere? Well, uh, that's public record. All right, sit back. Sit back. I'm going to unbuckle this. >> All right. >> They're pretty. >> They take them off right when we get inside. All right, take a deep breath. Okay. This This sucks. But you're you're 20. You're an adult. >> Oh, yeah. I My life is ruined. My life is ruined. >> It sucks, but it's not ruined. I promise. >> I went to ruin. There's room for life. I'm screwed. I'm screwed for life. >> No, it could have been a lot worse. I've >> Can you wipe my tears, please? >> Uh, I don't have any I'll wipe them when we get in here. >> Okay. >> You You'll have plenty of time to wipe them. But look, I >> Can you stay with me, though? I >> I will stay with you with weirdos. I >> You won't be with any weirdos. I promise. >> I want to go home. I want to go home. >> Your parents are already working on a bond. Okay. You'll be in and out. No, I can't cry. I can't cry. Wait, wipe my chair. Wipe my shoes. I can't cry. >> You'll cry right when they'll let you off cry. No, no, no. What I'm saying is they'll get you something to wipe yourself off. There's paper towels in here. I'll let you wipe yourself off. But see, you're going to go in here. This is just a little booking area. And then look over. >> Can you wipe my black doors? Please, please. >> I don't have anything. As soon as we get in here, I will wipe them. Okay. I will make sure to get you a paper towel. I promise. Um, they'll take the cuffs off you and I'll let you wipe and clean yourself up. These are the jail people. Just cooperate with them. I'll do your paperwork. You'll go over there to the booking area. You might be in one of those little holding cells, but you'll be with females. You won't >> Someone's going to drive me home like after that. >> Either your friends will come get you or come get me. You're not going to get >> Well, the bell bons might drive you home and your keys are going to be with your vehicle at Barrett. It's all riding on the >> car's going to be home. No, your car is getting towed. You'll have to go pay to get it out tomorrow. >> But I'll give you your paperwork. >> Can't just like wipe my tears. >> I will wipe them when we get in there. I literally don't have anything to wipe them right now. >> We We got to wait our turn. >> Why can't we go inside? >> Because there's one person in front of us. >> I can't get a picture of you. >> I can't. >> Well, they don't do that till way later. So, don't worry about that. Right now, all we'll do is go in here and you have to go in that body scanner machine. It's like a X-ray machine to make sure you're not hiding nothing. You don't have any drugs or anything. I mean, you don't have pockets. You don't have anything else. >> Well, drugs are bad for you. >> I'm just asking. You don't have anything hidden. >> Oh, no. >> I didn't think so, but I don't. >> Wait, I don't want anyone taking picture. >> Well, you have to get a monk shot. It's part of the booking. >> Can you make it private? You can make it private. But >> why can't I make it private? It's me. >> Because it's public record. But when you take the mug shot, just look normal. Don't do anything like stupid or smile. >> But I don't want anyone see your mug shot. I don't want I feel like that makes sense. I don't want to go on any social media. Nothing. >> Well, like I said, that's public record. They can't control that. I can't control that. What do you name your lady? >> Uh, Amelia. >> Amelia. >> She shouldn't be here long. I've already called her parents in New York. Explain the bond procedure. It's just DUI and no lights. >> Okay. >> She's freaking out. I'm trying to let her know. Nothing's going to happen to her. She'll be separated. >> I'm literally going to I'm never going to have a job. >> I told you people who work with me at the police department have had DUI. It's going to be okay. But you got to you really got to think. You were a 24 >> giving you money. >> She doesn't. The only thing she has is her cell phone. >> God. >> Literally. >> It's dead. >> And yeah, it's dead. That's literally all she has. >> You'll never see me. >> I mean, she does have a necklace and some rings and stuff. But >> yeah, you didn't see anything. >> He's just starting the paperwork. I'm still >> I got to do all my paperwork once we get in here. >> Screw for life. I'm going to never get a job. >> Amelia, police officers have DUIs. I'm just glad you didn't kill somebody. Like I said, >> that could have been worse >> at at your at that level of impairment. >> That could have been worse. >> I've worked several wrecks in the last four months where one girl went in a car with her friends and she's she had to get a spinal surgery. Another guy was drinking with friends downtown. He was only like a seven, but he ran over a lady on Broad Street or a guy on Broad Street. Yeah. >> Because he was impaired and didn't see her. But I promise you, we'll get through this. You'll learn from it. There's >> I'm never going to be successful now. >> You're going to be successful. I I can tell by your attitude. You're going to be successful. >> Did you want to hear something? >> I've never I've never taken a sip of alcohol and drove in my life. And tonight was the night I decided, "Oh, it's fine. My friends are home. I'm just going to go home." >> It wasn't. >> And now all of a sudden, I get caught. I've never I've never taken a sip of alcohol before in my life. and and drove. And now I'm really upset because I would never tell you that cuz it doesn't matter to you. But personally, it matters to me cuz I would never ever ever drive. And now you made a mistake. People make mistakes. >> It's going to cost my life and I'm going to die. >> It's not going to cost your life. I promise. >> All right. [snorts] >> And it's going to cost my life. >> It's not going to cost your life. It's going to It's going to suck. It's going you're going to have to go to court. You're going to have to go to you'll have to probably pay a fine, but you know it's it >> I don't care [laughter] about the money. I care about the the morals. I care about the morals. [snorts] >> I'm going to be feel like forever. >> No, you won't. I I promise you I'm going to get a job. >> Yes, you will get a job. I won't. Listen, >> you can get any job. There's no job that you're disqualified from because you have had a DUI. There's not one job. Now, if you're if you wanted to apply for like a government job, I mean, I think you got to wait a few years after a DUI, but there are police officers. >> I don't want a government job. I like fashion. >> Well, there's a lot of people in fashion that have DUIs. I promise you can get a passion job. This pop is I want you to listen to me. Okay. All right. I'm Lieutenant Sant. All right. I'm going to get you in here. I'm going to search you. Well, not me, but deputy. >> Yeah. She's going to search you. All right. We're going to book you in. Listen. Just relax. Okay. >> No. >> Listen. Listen. We'll let you wipe your face off. We'll let you make the calls to your parents. They're already working on bonding you out. Being upset is not going to help anything. It sucks. >> Once we get you booked in, >> we're going to walk you through. >> Stay off the phone. Call your parents to get you out of here. Olivia, they're Amelia. They're [snorts] already working on it. Okay, they are literally calling a bondsman now. So, just just try to you're going to get these cuffs off. I'm going to let you wipe your face. You're going to be free to walk around a little bit. [laughter] >> So, let's get in here. Don't don't make it any harder on these folks, okay? They understand. >> I don't want to make any horses. >> Listen, you've been you've been sweet to me. Let's go in here and get this done. Okay. Go over here. >> Face that side. >> She's going to take these cuffs off you. Everything's going to be okay. Hey, as soon as you're done with that, what they tell you to do, here are some paper towels to wipe your face, okay? But do what they told you to do first. >> Okay. >> I told you you're going to be with You'll probably be by yourself in a holding cell or with another girl. You're not going to be in there with any guys. >> I don't I don't want to take a picture of myself right now. >> You Well, it'll be a few minutes, but you have to take a mug shot. Okay. All right. So, I got some paperwork for you real quick. Um, so here is a copy of those test results. Like I said, you gave two samples. The first one was a 0.256 and the second one is 243. We go with the lowest one. So, you're at 0.243. Like I said, for you 0.02 is a DUI, but even even for an for you 21 year olds, you're three times the legal limit. Okay? So, 0.08 08 is, you know, DUI. You're three times that. Okay? So, that's what th those results are. And you get to keep that. These are a copy of your tickets. I'm only booking you for DUI and driving without life. I could give you another ticket for underage consumption of alcohol. I'm not going to do that. You also kind of turned into the wrong lane when I pulled you over, but like I said, I'm not going to do all that. Okay. And this right here, >> this right here is a temporary I'm letting you keep your New York license since it's an out of state license. I'm not actually taking your license. But since you got a DUI in Georgia, the the Georgia the state of Georgia is going to attempt to suspend your driving privileges so that you can't drive anymore um since you were over. 08. So this will be a temporary driving permit. This is good for 45 days. So, for the next 45 days when you drive, you need to drive with this. Now, when you talk to an attorney, there's a way to challenge this suspension. Now, a lot of people challenge this suspension because the DUI part sucks, but not being able to drive sucks even worse. So, there's talk to your attorney about how to maybe fight this. I need you to sign right here and date it that I served you with your temporary driving permit. So, sign right here where it says signature of driver. This is just saying I served you and you have your temporary driving permit and then date it 82524 and I will give you a copy of that. It'll and they'll probably put it with your paperwork. All right. So, I'm done with you. They're about to take you. >> Well, I I've done all my paperwork. I just have to do your booking form. So, just go with them. Hey, wipe your face off. You still got mascara all over. You can take those paper towels. She can take those with her, right? >> Look, you got it all over your face. You'll You'll be able to >> Look, you're just going to be in a holding cell. If you're with anybody, you'll be with another college girl. You'll probably be in a holding cell by yourself. >> Wait, is there a mirror? So, I can just like wait off my face. >> Yeah, you'll just go right there for now. They'll get you somewhere. You can look in the window. Hey. Hey. Hey.
