disabled 2016 Volkswagen Jetta officers made contact with the driver identified as Kelly teranova and immediately noticed the front passenger side tire was damaged when questioned about the damage Kelly's Behavior raised further concerns officers detected the odor of alcohol and observed additional signs of impairment prompting a DUI investigation this video picks up at the moment officers head do you understand the instructions okay follow my finger with your eyes most people who fail a field sobriety test tend to do so not necessarily during the physical exercises themselves but rather at the very beginning when they're supposed to be paying close attention to the officer's instructions keep your head still this is a critical part of the test that many Overlook keep your head still officers typically give a detailed set of directions before each exercise and emphasize that the subject should not begin until told to do so however many individuals either start too early forget key steps or fail to follow the instructions correctly okay which immediately counts against them can you follow this early failure is often due to intoxication and not focusing on what's being said they're Intoxicated by the time they begin the actual walk and turn or one leg stand they may already be at a disadvantage because they didn't follow the directions as instructed something officers are trained to watch for as a strong indicator of impairment pay attention to how people listed to the instructions all right now I'm going to do the same thing but I'm going to go vertical off of yeah this is the official state guideline this is the official state guideline while walking watch your feet at all times keep your arms at your side count your steps out loud and once you can't undo what happened but going forward you know you've been trying to do better okay based on several indicators of impairment including the strong odor of alcohol and her inability to successfully complete the field sobriety test for you okay patrolman French placed Kelly under arrest for driving Under the Influence following her arrest her 2016 Volkswagen Jetta was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold in accordance with John's law patrolman French then transported Kelly to the Lincoln Park Police Department to administer a breathalyzer test once at the Lincoln Park Station Kelly was read a standard statement for motor vehicle operators and consented to provide breath samples Patrol woman Jennifer hessie of the Lincoln Park Police Department conducted the test the results from the ALCO test revealed Kelly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.24% three times the legal limit of 0.08% a but after the test was completed patrolman French brought Kelly back to the Montville Township Police Department for further processing there she was photographed and officers completed the necessary paperwork once processing was finished Kelly was released into the custody of her sister who signed the potential liability warning form on her behalf Kelly's run-ins with the law did not end there on March 3rd 20023 she was arrested once again for DWI in Handover Township New Jersey court documents also show a history of similar offenses she was arrested in Mansfield Township New Jersey on April 14th 2019 after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident just weeks before that she faced two DWI arrests in Rockaway township on March 29th and March 27th 2019 we can do that a little bit even earlier on March 1st 2010 Kelly was arrested for DWI in Hanover Township court records confirmed that on November 28th 2023 Kelly entered a guilty plea for operating Under the Influence as part of her sentence she was ordered to install an ignition interlock device for 24 months spend 48 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center and pay $1,390 in fines the careless driving citation was dismissed in addition Kelly was sentenced to 180 days in jail what are your
