on May 31st 2024 at approximately 3:05 p.m. a police officer responded to a report of an assault when she got there the caller said that while she was walking a woman approached her and punched her in the ear causing it to swell up the victim said she was in pain and her hearing was temporarily affected by the strike here is what occurred where is that col 528 watch L see hi ma'am called all right I'm it's called what's going on um I just got hit on this side of my head guys some now who she was in a blue white stripe shirt with yellow C over her shoulder she went that way yeah we have somebody looking for her you have your ID I I it is 3:10 now when did this happen probably like 3:05 and and what happened I just was walking down the street and this way that way down 6th Street you were on Sixth Street mhm and she just came up to me and just hit me like out of no there I was walkinging down my phone looked in my head she hit me on side just on this side of my head but pretty hard in my ear how many times just once did uh she appear the LA of better or just I mean she could have been but she didn't she didn't see that okay what was she wearing again a white and blue tank top with a like she had like a yellow draw string bug over her shoulder and I would say her hair was like down to here and it was like brown and brownish auburn color [Music] traff one time close F or open I think like this but I I don't are you okay you want any medical I'm okay um and she just she just continued walking she she said don't ever do that to me again I'm just hit me which obviously I didn't do anything and she just continued walking and then I followed behind here just to see what direction she went but all right she's able to be identified do you want to file a complaint which would mean um so we we do a report and you go to court if we're able to identify her I mean she's going to be arrested for assault think a positively identifier her yeah I'm not I don't need to go to court but I don't want we're going up to somebody else and hitting them and hurting them more that's why I called really so we are going to this is going to be a report which I'll give you a case up in a second um and we are going to there's already another officer looking for her I'm going to head back down and look for her um and if she is spotted and we are able to for you to identify her okay she'll be charged with okay um so uh it could be anywhere from like hey I'll pick you up drive by yeah that's her no that's not her okay um hoping they've seen her while I was still with you she wasn't moving there trying to think all right so we will give you a call if we're able to see her for you to do a would you be able to do a show up which is pretty much we'll pick you up you sit behind a tinted window and you just tell us if all right um I'll start I'll start looking for you sure you need a medical yeah all we are are you sure 11 all right she said all she got was the female was wearing a white and blue tank top a yellow drawring bag over her shoulder brown hair lower to her lower back and she walked South on was from 6 so I'm just going to that [Applause] [Applause] her as 37-year-old Jessica Roswell of Hoboken Roswell was placed under arrest for aggravated assault and transported to Hoboken police headquarters for processing before being transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility for
