The final exercise was the one leg stand test and David failed to raise his foot in the proper fashion and did not count in the correct sequence. Keep your hands out of your pockets for me. Yeah. I'm going ask you again. Do you have anything to drink today? No, absolutely not. Officer, I just came pick up my cousin. She just came back from the club and I just came pick up from um So, I dropped her off at the club and I could pick her up from the airport. You had nothing to drink in the int. Absolutely not. So, take your hat off for me. Yeah, absolutely. You just put that somewhere. Yeah. See my pen? What color is my pen? What color is the pen? What color is the pen? Black. Okay. You see it? Mhm. Okay. For this test, I'm going to be having you follow the pen with your eyes, your eyes only. Do you understand? You have anything wrong with your eyes? I should be aware of wear glasses, contacts. Okay. Ready? Mhm. Eyes and eyes only. Officer, you you flash you flashing that that the light top. I can't see the light. You can't see the pen. No, I can't see the pen. Is this better? Right there. You're going to follow it up instead of side to side. Tuck your chin in a little bit for me, please. Hey, that. Yep. Just like that. I got you. Okay, officer. I promise you I'm not drunk. I just came pick up my cousin from the club. I'll ask you one more time before we conduct the rest of the test. Did you have anything to drink today? Absolutely not. Officer. Okay. Did you do any drugs today? No, absolutely not. All right. Weed. Haven't smoked nothing. That's fine. For the next test, you're going to stand right there that you see that line. Yeah. All right. So, what you're going to do, you're going to put your left foot forward like so. You put your right foot in front of your left foot like this. Hands down at your side. You're going to stay that way until I tell you to do otherwise. I got you. So, for the next portion of this test is going to be the walk and turn test. Do you have anything wrong with your legs I should be worried about? No, absolutely not. Okay. So, for this test, you're going to take nine steps forward, then nine steps back. In the interim, when you make your turn, you're going to take a series of small choppy steps. I'm going to demonstrate the test for you so that you can be aware of what I expect of you. I'm going to do three steps. You are going to do nine steps. Do you understand? Yeah. Okay. So, the test is going to look like this. You are going to take the steps. You're going to look down at your foot during the course of this test. You're going to count your steps out loud. It's going to look like this. One, two, three. Series of Nope. Short choppy steps once you're at your ninth step. And then one, two, three. Once you begin the test, you are not to stop the test until you complete the test. Do you understand? So, it's four steps forward and four step backwards. Nope. As I explained to you, I was doing three steps. As an example, you are to do nine steps. Do you understand? Do you want me to demonstrate again? So, it's fine. Yeah. Demonstrate one more time. Okay. Sorry. So, again, left foot, right foot in front of left foot, hands down at your side. I'm going to take three. You are going to take nine. It's going to look like this. One, two, three. Short choppy steps. One, two, three. And you are to touch heel to toe for the complete duration of this test. Do you understand? Okay. I'm sorry. That was eight steps. No, it's nine steps as I explained to you. One, two. Do you want me to demonstrate for you again? I didn't say to begin. Go back to where you needed to be. So, as I explained to you, it's nine steps. You're going to take nine steps. At your ninth step, you are going to take a series of small choppy steps. Mhm. Turn around and take nine more steps. Okay. I got you. From where you started, nine steps, short choppy steps, back to the beginning. I got you. So, I want to take nine steps right now. When you're back in the starting position as I advised you to be in, then yes. Okay. Ready? Get into the starting position, please. I am, officer. You're not. Look, the starting position, as I explained to you before, is left foot, right foot in front of left foot, hands down at your side. All right. Heel to toe. Mhm. During the course of the test, your heel has to touch your toe for the complete duration of the test. Do you understand? And you need to look at your foot and count out loud. Do you understand? Yeah, I got you. Okay, you may begin. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Turn. 1. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. Okay. So, the last test is going to be the balance test. So, what you're going to do, you're stand exactly as you are. Your heels touching, hands down at your side. You understand? Yes, sir. All right. So, for this test, you're going to raise the foot of your choice approximately 6 in off the ground. I'm going to demonstrate it for you. Don't start anything until I tell you to do otherwise. So, you're going to stay exactly how you are now until I tell you to do otherwise. I got you. So, for this test, you're going to stand as so. Raise one foot approximately 6 in. You're going to look down at your foot. I didn't say to begin. I said not to begin. Put your foot down. Put your foot down. You're going to raise the foot of your choice 6 in off the ground. You're going to count 1 1 2 100 3 100 4 100 so on and so forth until I tell you to stop. If you put your foot down at any portion of this test, you can bring it right back up and continue. Absolutely. During the course of the test, your foot, the one that you are standing on, has to remain straight. There's no swaying to the side, nothing like that. And you have to maintain that foot at 6 in. Just officer, it's a little cold right now. So I'm a little shivering right now. So it's a little cold right now. So that's fine. Pardon Keep your hands out of your pockets. Keep your hands out of your pockets. Ready? You are going. No, I didn't say to begin. Stop beginning until I tell you to begin.
