was F on October 16th 2023 around 12:58 a.m. patrolman Javier malado with the scotch ples ble Department responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a 2019 BMW 430 on sunnyfield Lane when he arrived on scene he noticed that the car had driven past the curb on the homeowner's driveway and crashed into a tree surrounded by shrubs there was airbag deployment inside the vehicle and the BMW had sustained severe frontend damages the driver would later be identified as aania with the help of patroman Willie De Jesus extania was able to exit the vehicle through the passenger side door asleep that's all I'm good all right but we still got to get you out of there so no I know I just can't even my car doesn't let me go out or nothing hey look look look when I turn on my car it doesn't let me do anything at all like I don't know what happened going to I was falling to sleep but I was driving I'm not going to lie that's all but it doesn't let me like at all my car it let me out but she could go into the ambulance rig and be evaluated while she was being placed on the stretcher patroman Maldonado detected the odor of alcohol and observed other indicators of impairment after she was evaluated by First Responders she to declined transport to the hospital when aania was asked if she had anything to drink she admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that evening after the First Responders evaluated her the patrolman Maldonado asked her to perform field sobriety exercises based on his suspicion of impairment come on what's your name a couple STS over here yeah of course come final exercise was the one one leg stand test during the one leg stand test extania failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and failed to count in the correct sequence the horizontal gaze nystagmus hgn test was not administered I'll demonstrate it for you all right and then you're you're going to be counting so you're going to keep your foot out 6 in off the ground point it down and you're going to count 1,1 1,2 13 1004 and onto until I tell you to stop okay okay all right so get in the starting position whenever you're ready do you have any questions okay go ahead do you have perform the field sobriety exercises satisfactorily xania was placed under arrest for operating Under the Influence her vehicle was impounded by for a mandatory 12-hour hold under Jon's law patrolman maut do placed her in handcuffs and initially transported her to the Fanwood Police Department where she was searched by a female officer all right so uh just place your arm behind your back place you finished fin processing her eia was transported back to the scotch planes Police Department for further processing she was eventually released to her brother pending her court appearance he signed the potential shery warning form on aia's behalf patroman Maldonado issued her summonses for operating Under the Influence reckless driving careless driving and careless driving operate MV causing
