October 20th 2024 at approximately 3:20 a.m. deputies with the late County Sheriff's Office responded to report of a Honda that had gone into a ditch on the 12,100 block of York House Road in beach park Deputy Savage arrived on scene around 3:23 a.m. and he made contact with the father of the driver who was already on scene speaking with the other deputies the driver of the Honda later identified as 24 years old Jacqueline was sitting in the back seat of her father's pickup truck he opened the door and asked Jacqueline to exit the truck as she was walking to the back of the truck she lost her balance and briefly fell into a ditch sit down sit down watch out you don't want to bust your shin on that trailer hitch no I don't all right do you have your driver's license on you no I don't all right are you okay yes tired yes okay so how long ago were you driving this vehicle okay have you had anything to drink tonight okay I have my license in the picture if you want it okay would you say at this point that you're intoxicated okay let's be realistic why are your pants wet did you pee yourself no I fell here I fell that's not what I'm talking about right in between your you've had two drinks how long ago I hour maybe an hour ago yeah okay did you have your seat belt on when you were driving yeah okay all right we're going to test uh and you're saying at this point do you feel that you're intoxicated right now no right now you don't no I just feel tired okay so right now all you feel is tired this is Jackie she's driving the vehicle Jack okay Jac I see I mean Jackie yes but like government wise like Jack Jack okay yeah let me get my booklet real quick and we'll some quick exercises want to make sure that you're okay and then we'll kind of go from there all the way we we'll walk a little take a step forward and then we can do it right here in case a car passes by you're not you're not riding the away okay as he was speaking with Jacqueline he detected the odor of alcohol and noticed other indicators of impairment Deputy marqueen arrived on scene to assist shortly afterwards she would later state that she was coming from North Chicago and she would also admit to consuming alcohol before operating a motor vehicle based on their suspicion of impairment Deputy Marquina asked Jacqueline to perform field sobriety exercises so I'm going to read some quick instructions we'll go over some exercises if you don't understand something when I ask if you understand it let me know yes or no okay we'll kind of go from there all right so all right so um do you have any eye problems any abnormalities anything like that I mean I like have a little bit of V of vision issues but okay like you wear glasses sometimes or okay um that's there I just don't like that that's right there I yeah yeah or just move forward if he want to move a little forward yeah he's just hanging there I'm not all right hey jacine do you want him to have hey Jacqueline I'm sorry oh no you're okay you don't got to apologize um all right so I'm going to ask you a few questions if you don't understand the question let me know otherwise it'll be a quick yes or no answer okay um do you have any problems any abnormalities with your eyes I mean I wear glasses but I don't have them on right now you don't have do you have contexts on right now no no okay but tests okay you don't want to do any of the tests um can at least check your eyes if you don't want to do like walking or anything like that is that cool with you um you're okay with the heels though that's fine okay so all you're normally going to do um you're going to put your heels and Toes together like that um you're going to put your hands out of your pocket know it's a little cold but won't be for long keep them in your sight at all times don't move your body don't move your hat jacin initially hesitated to perform field sobriety exercises before agreeing to let the deputy check her eyes Deputy marrina started with the horizontal gay ni stymus hgn test afterwards Jacko in Decline additional field sobriety exercises don't move your don't worry hey jacine I know it's hard um keep your heels and Toes together um keep your hands on your sides um don't move your body don't move your head what you're going to do you're going to follow this light just with your eyes understood yeah all right perfect so the way it's going to go just I know it's a little bright um hey LT are you able to kill your take down t fine honestly no it's okay I want enough light where I can see your eyes but not where like it's blinding you and you're just having a hard time okay it's okay we'll give it a second is what it is no it's not we we can control that one at this point it is what it is like I don't want him to take any blame for it at all it's my fault yeah so we we'll give it a second okay perfect all right so all right so it feels like it's going to be in your face is right on your chin additional field sobriety exercises Deputy Marquina offered Jacqueline an opportunity to take a preliminary breath test PBT but she refused right Perfect all right so thank you for that so I know you didn't want to do any of the other exercises um would you like for me to kind of go over them with you and you kind of decide as we go along you don't want to do them at all okay um would you be willing to um provide a breath sample at all no nothing like that no okay so this is where we at right I just want to make sure that one I can kind of see you know what your state is um obviously you're minute you were driving okay um the reason we do these exercises is to make sure that you're okay you're not impared to operate a vehicle right this is the clues that I have and this is why I always prefer to do the other exercises to kind of get a better understanding of where we're at okay um obviously yes there's poor lighting but it's a straightaway Road it's kind of hard to just end up where you're at especially since you don't live here all right two um that where you're walking you peed yourself yeah there's an order of alcoholic beverage coming from your breath and your eyes definitely show me signs of impairment okay so hence the reent a while was asking for the other exercises which are optional you don't have to do same thing with the bread sample right but so far my interaction with you my observations with you your glassy watery eyes stuff like that the way you're standing just standing there and swaying I do believe you're impair based on the motor vehicle accident the odor of alcohol her admission to consuming alcohol and her unwillingness to perform all field sobriety exercises jaalin was placed under arrest for driving Under the Influence okay I hope you understand that so that's right okay so right now I'm going to have I am going to take you into custody for DUI okay so just put your hands your back she buy on the D so you an insurance card in the vehicle I have you do have it on your phone okay well my dad has my phone now but okay would you do me a fav know your passcode Walker to the back of my car you do a search and she's a female and then just set her there I'll go talk to that yeah what is it go with that please only be four digits okay no I mean I I would prefer if like my dad came up and I gave it to him and like pulled up the I've never been arrested so I'm going to talk to Dad um since sometimes he forgets know engl um we'll get a toe and then I'll take her she wouldn't do walk and turn but everything else I have enough to County Jail okay that's in Wan um you're going to be there probably two three hours max um I just got to go over uh a few documentations with you um I gave you some citations uh the jail staff um going to take a picture uh Fingerprints of you um and then you get a court date and you're pretty much kind of free to go from there okay um you'll be the you'll have the ability to call um you know handcuffed Jacqueline was placed in the patrol car and her vehicle was toed Deputy Marquina transported Jacqueline to the late County jail for further processing after being processed she was eventually released from the jail pending her court appearance on November 27th 2024 hey it's County with one female 5114 location to County J
