This is Nicholas LaFontaine. He had been behaving oddly and his mother went to his house to check on him. Instead, she found LaFontaine's roommate Michael Wilson dead on the floor and covered with a rug. There was a bloody handprint on one of the doors that was later found to be a match for LaFontaine. Several days later, the police found a duffel bag of bloody clothing belonging to LaFontaine in a nearby area. LaFontaine was originally brought in on unrelated charges of burglary and attempted robbery. What was your roommate's name? Well, I'm not His name is he told me Michael Wilson. So that's the name, but on the payroll checks it was a little different from cuz we worked at the we worked at the same job but then I quit. So now he works at the job and I'm just doing my Uber. All right, you're an Uber driver? Mhm. All right. Where did you work? Elizabeth's. Is that downtown? What? Okay. When did you stop working there? About a month and a half ago, you know. A month and a half ago? Mhm. All right. Yeah, I just picked up my last check the other day. All right. So you just been driving? Mhm. Okay. How's that going? It's not going to be forever because eventually you're going to do self-driving stuff. So for it to be food service. Oh. like another four years I got and then I got probably get I don't I don't even trust the school system for degrees anymore so I got to pick a trade somehow. So. Did you go to school? Yeah, for chemistry. Oh, really? Mhm. College or Mhm. Which college? Uh University of South Florida in Tampa. Did you graduate or No, they were trying to teach me some math and physics that didn't really I we got into a long conversation with our professor and they're like, yeah, well this is pretty much all made up. No one really sure knows if this is real or not but we're going to teach it to you anyway and so that kind of broke my spirits and I kind of quit. Cuz it's all fake. Right. Calculus and all that. Well, I mean if the teacher's not believing in it Mhm. and telling you they don't believe it. he wrote the book that we were studying so he's like, yeah, it's all circumstantial, you know, you know, you don't know and really knows. And so someone different comes along. Yeah, well it it broke my spirit too. Mhm. So when was that? When did you leave school? Um two two it was two years ago. Okay. 2018. I mean 2018. Okay. And then you started working at Elizabeth's? How long did you work there for? Um six months. I jumped around a lot from serving and to regular home cooking. I don't serve, I just do cooking jobs all the time all over. All right. You're a good chef? Mhm. Really? Mhm. Did you go to culinary school? Mhm. You don't need to. Oh, you don't? No, you too. Oh. You don't have to go to culinary school. Be a cook. All right. Um So you and your girlfriend broke up. Um how long has your roommate been living with you? Um three months now. Okay. How's that going? How's that going? Good. Yeah. Wilson had moved from North Carolina to Florida to enter a rehab program. Upon release, he found a job at a local pizza place and was doing well. He had a good local support system and had hopes of becoming a writer or stand-up comedian. And do you not believe that's his name because his page stuff says Well, all of his um everything his laptop, his pill bottle, everything said Michael W and then he wrote a little like like weird like scribble scrabble and then all of it and then and then his uh his computer was like Michael like S or whatever and scribble scrabbles. I didn't know for a while until I looked at the his paystub but then it was something a little different than what he told me. But it didn't really mess with me very much. All right. You didn't really concern yourself with it at all. No, I I worked with him in the beginning. Yeah. Okay, where did you meet him? Job. I worked at Oh, yeah. All right. I thought you maybe knew him beforehand before you worked there and you guys got the job together. No? You met him at Elizabeth's. Okay. When was the last time you were home? Fourth. The fourth? Mhm. So let's see that was breakfast. Friday was the fourth? Fourth. Friday was the fourth. Uh Thursday the fourth. I know if you can if I had my phone it shows um the days I do Uber so Oh, okay. They took my phone and they took my wallet and I tried to get another officer to let me use his phone to Google my phone so I can get my phone and no one would let me so Where is your phone? They took it at the Amtrak when they arrested me. I mean the I got mugged first and they found me naked because they mugged me so they could take my [ __ ] And then they well made my things worse so So the police what? The police officers? Oh, at the train station? Mhm. Okay, and they took your phone? And my wallet. Took your phone and threw it? I got mugged by two African-American folks. Oh. Did you tell the police that? Yeah. Okay. And then they went they're like, you sure you got robbed but they looked they looked at my arms and they said they were like, those wounds look pretty self-inflicted. And I'm like, are you serious right now? Like I just got mugged and I'm sitting here like by myself and you guys want to take me away just cuz my wounds look self-inflicted? And they're like, yeah, that's what we do. Which means they don't like this. I don't think that looks self-inflicted. It looks like you were in bushes. They saw this. That's why. Cuz I tried to jump the Amtrak fence to get away from the train. Did did that person that tried to rob you do that to your arm? Mhm. They're all fresh. Right. I didn't I didn't know if that was the case. I was running through bushes and Oh, oh, oh. I didn't know if the people that that robbed you tried to that did that. Mhm. Okay, and you jumped over a fence and that's all the scratches on your stomach area. Mhm. They saw it was limp and so I guess I was a probably they tried to get to them. Mhm. White boy. That's what they said. What brought you to the train station? I was going to look for um well, you know, I you look on the online at the Amtrak and it's different when you go there. So I was trying to see like I had some cash on me. I wanted to see how far or where down south or if I could go if the Amtrak goes to the Keys. I know it can go to New York but whatever they have online is different from what they have there so I wanted to check it. Mhm. And they robbed you at the train station? Well, that was down in one of the corner areas in the fences. So you were going to try to get to the Keys? You got family down there? I got family in Vero Beach but I just wanted to see where and how far and how long the trips or how how much it is to go like here to Jupiter. Or from South some Vero Beach to see my mom or something like that. Okay. Did you not have a car? No. Okay. How do you Uber? Don't you have a car? All right. Do you have a car? I didn't have a car then. Oh, okay. Mhm. But I was Ubering people around. And sometimes Uber people without um without any uh rides so they get get they get given my phone number or they call me or they give me a phone to meet them somewhere and you know, I just drive for everyday people. They don't want to pay the extra 35% so I just drive them around. And then some people are bad people and take advantage of that so Yeah. And then it's not you don't have the option to call emergency so I did a bad I I did bad by letting people use me like that. Well, I'm sure you were trying to do the right thing and give people a break. It's more money than um like I get from Uber. Right. Of course. I mean [snorts] I was already taxi driving so it doesn't you know, what's the difference? Agreed. I don't blame you. What kind of car did you Uber people around in? I [snorts] had an old Jeep. An old Jeep. Jeep like Cherokee or Like a Wrangler. A Wrangler? Did you have shoes on? Yes. Did you did you lose them when you were running from Oh, yeah. Okay. [snorts] You okay? I should use a shower. Okay. All right. Understandable. Well but where is your Jeep parked? Pops over there had it. They lied to me. They said my mom called and picked it up. [clears throat] I got a hold of my mom and she said she never heard a thing about it. So I don't know who these people are or why they're lying that they got they let my mom pick up my car when it's actually in some place and I'm losing $150 every day that's there or that I'm out of it. Or at the hospital. So now I got to get out, find my car, figure out who was lying to me and why they said that they talked to my mom and stuff like that. I don't I think I know who the officer was cuz he was trying to get me to confess to something I didn't do. He's It's just all everything is all jumbled up and all these people are just you know, causing me problems. Well, I can tell you we're not here to cause you problems. Okay? Mhm. We I talked to your mom. How she doing? Terrible, huh? She's okay. She's worried about you. Mhm. That's awesome. She's a mom. That's what she's supposed to do, right? Did she say that the cops told her about the car and then they they lied, right? She didn't pick it up, right? She did pick it up. Earlier? Like when they said? Yesterday. So did she say that like right away the day of she she could have picked it up the day of? Which day are we talking about? Because I know she picked it up yesterday. All right, it wasn't the first time. So the officers did say that, but I called her after and she said that they didn't, so. You spoke to her earlier at the hospital? not at St. Mary's the the hos- the emergency center here. I think on Monday morning she said you spoke to her, right? You called her from the hospital. I don't I don't even know what day the eighth is right now. Right. Right. Well, today's Tuesday, so yesterday morning she said you had called her. And she had not gotten your Jeep yet. Mhm. Yeah, they did. They lied about that. But when we saw her she had your Jeep. Okay, that's good. Okay? Mhm. So you're not racking up $150 a day. That's good. Well, it's not, but All right. Mhm. But so we're not here to lie to you or anything like that. Mhm. Did you know your mom went to your house? No. Okay. That's where she dropped off your Jeep. Okay, that's good. It's in the driveway. That's good. [snorts] Your mom wanted to make sure everything was okay in the house. Okay. She went in the house. Okay. When was the last time you saw your roommate? Um well, when I was in my Jeep. You know, you know, pretty much the day I was driving around. Which day was that? Everything's all jumbled up. The days are hard. Mhm. I get it. I mean, my days get hard, too. I don't know which days they are. from the Jeep trying to figure out how to get back to the Amtrak station back from there. Getting jumped and waking up and just being there alone on the floor. Gunpoint to my head, you know. And then the cops came and I was like Okay, fine. You felt safer. Mhm. So back to when was the last time you saw your roommate? I don't know. I've been hanging out at my friend's house for a while. Um somewhere on Banyan. It's been almost a week now since I've seen him. Yeah. A week or six days, five days. When you saw him, what was he I said down and watched his breakfast. At home? Yeah, he's been watching the whole thing. All right. You don't know what day it is. Binge watching? Mhm. How was your relationship with him? Good, he's a good guy. He's a good dude. Last time I saw him he brought brought me a big wave and a bunch of stuff. [clears throat] Captain Crunch. In the weeks before his death, Wilson told his mother that LaFontaine was behaving oddly and that he was uncomfortable. Wilson was considering moving back home, but his mother encouraged him to stay, said he was doing so well. Where's his family at? Um North Carolina. Does he have any kids or anything? Probably. [clears throat] How old is he? You don't know for sure? No. Parents? I heard him talking to someone with the on there. Yeah. Maybe his mom, grandma. Mhm. Did he talk to her often or Did he talk to her? Did Did your roommate talk to her? Yeah. Yeah, all the time. Okay. But Did you guys ever have any arguments? Um [clears throat] no. Never? Just when you would uh take my food and stuff like that. Yeah. Is it Jeep? He took my all my ice cream. Like every single thing. Every single ice cream. He's like, "Oh, I'll get you more." And it's like, "Okay." And then he just brings back like candy candy and stuff. And I was like, "That's not ice cream." Mhm. But it's whatever. Well, I mean, there's a huge difference between ice cream and candy, right? If you're going to tell me you're going to bring me ice cream it's not it's just It's just a thing. It's just a thing. What's the point of it? I get it. So that's the only arguments you guys have, nothing major. Um I mean, that's the way we were good roommates, you know. You got along. Yeah. Mhm. [clears throat] Mhm. It's pretty bad, right? Is it painful? I just have um numbing right there. In both hands or just one hand? One hand. Which which hand's worse? They're really This one. Why did you Why did you smell it? Because there was yellow stuff on it. I didn't know what it was. Oh oh, I thought maybe No, I didn't. It's not infected, but my leg is. That one is. Yeah, I mean, we'll definitely keep an eye on that and everything. Besides your legs and your arms, anywhere else you're injured? No. No. Your back, anything like that that you can feel or Mhm. No. How's my mom? Is she back in Vero or is she out here? She's back in Vero. Yep. Is my car at the house? It is. Okay. How did it get there? Your mom actually she's an amazing woman. She parked it your house. She has a scooter. Do you know anything about she does not have a scooter. Yeah, she has a scooter. No, she does not. Not like a not like a Vespa scooter, like a um put your feet on it and you scoot. Like a kid scooter? It's got the like the little um Are you sure you called the right person? My mom does not do that. Well, I promise you did. She did. Is her mom Judy? She said she scootered to where your Jeep was, put the scooter in your Jeep, she drove the Jeep back to your house. from Vero? No, no, no, no, no. From your house. I'm sorry, that's me. She went to your house, she parked her car, she took the scooter, which is What scooter? There's no scooter. Dude, she has a scooter. She has a scooter. She had a scooter. Mom's amazing. And then she drove your Jeep back to the house. Took the scooter out and put it in the back cuz I saw the scooter. It's like it I don't know if it's a kid scooter. I don't think it's a kid scooter, but but it was a scooter. It's definitely amazing. Yeah. She said it was good exercise. We had the right lady. She was in the Navy in Maine. Mhm. Right? Okay. Yeah. I called her today when all this was going on just to let her know what was happening. Well, I mean you can't trust people in those hospitals. All they want to do is get more money and they say you can't do that. They'll inject you, put you to sleep for two more days and then you got two more days to pay for them. I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. They tried to inject me with a whole bunch of crap. Did they try to help of I'm tired of the system like that. Nicholas, did they try to help you at all? Cuz mom was concerned that Help my ass, no. They don't help anybody Everybody in every single I've only been to stuff in JFK especially. They strap people down, they tie them up and then they they inject them with [ __ ] and then they go in their room and then mysteriously disappear for a little bit and then they come out all loopy, tired and done and dead. LaFontaine exhibits a concerning amount of paranoia. It is uncertain whether or not it is related to drug use. I recently released another exclusive Patreon video exposing a chilling incident where a man unleashed his rage by committing a shocking act of violence against an innocent 15-year-old. This heart-wrenching video shows interrogation of Cody, the man behind this horrible crime. Watch the full video and more at patreon.com/strangerstoriesplus. I'm tired of it. It shouldn't be like that and the cops, you know, they they may see it but they can't say anything cuz they're different from the medical professionals, so. I know that you needed help. Somebody that you That's so stupid. They don't know They don't know if I need help or not and they just they take whoever they want They can take whoever they want, say anything they want and just take you just like that right off the streets. You know? And then they and then they force they force-feed you food and then they they force your fingerprints and take your blood and you know, they Who knows what [clears throat] would they do with all that stuff stuff? It's not It's not the way it should It should be. It's not. They should be helping you. Yes. Do you think you need help? No, I'm good. Okay and then they and they just Cuz it's not just me. They can take anybody they want under any circumstances and they know it. You know? I think the problem was you were you were naked at the train station. Yeah, they they robbed me. Yeah, that looks bad, I know. And I'm going to find those guys for sure cuz I told them that I need Can you call my phone and Just idiots Just idiots. Did they take your clothes in the robbery? They told me to take off my [ __ ] Oh, they told you to take your clothes off. Okay. What's your phone number so that maybe we can try and find it for you? I'm telling you the people after me, man. They just screwed me and stopped chasing. What was after you at the train station? Or where? Those uh lengthy day. [snorts] It could have been two days maybe, I don't know, but these guys obviously got a hold of me, you know, I I couldn't do all this myself. [snorts] I don't know what they're going to do with my purse, but the gun was ridiculous. What did these guys look like? Just average Joes in basketball shorts and and hoodies, you know, white teeth. There's not really much Just Just to Just to differentiate you by. LaFontaine, like anyone trying to describe something that doesn't exist, sticks with a general description of his supposed attackers. I didn't know that Wait, no, it's backwards. What happened now? They play a lot of basketball. I don't know what that means cuz I play basketball, so. I'm trying not to to say anything Well, it's not negative. It is. It's putting me in that position where people are going to see this and they're going to be like, oh, he's, you know, racist or something. It's just like, well, that's what happened to me. You gave me a description of somebody that robbed you. Yeah, two guys. They look the same. They're African-American fellows. I told you that. Okay. That's not racist, Nicholas. That's okay to say. [snorts] You were at the house last time we saw you with him, right? Yeah. And he was watching the television. Mhm. I parked my Jeep, went in and went out to smoke a cigarette. [snorts] Do you have people come by the house regularly? Some people do, but you know, not really. No. Who Who's the I'm pretty sure um my neighbor has a dash cam. So you could see if someone went in the house or not. What do you mean? My neighbor's a cop. He's in the Marines. Oh. So he has a dash cam truck. If anybody crazy came in there. I don't think we've had many people over, but there was a few African-American friends, so. When was that? Over [snorts] the past few weeks here and there. Did you meet him at work? Did you meet him I didn't meet him at all. It was all Mike's Mike's friends? Mhm. Yeah, I've been chased, I've been beaten, I've been jumped over fences and and once they got the same thought I had help with the police and then the trauma came, the no sleeping came and the bad treatment came and everyone just looked both ways everything I said, you know? It's like there's nothing. And where did all my taxes go before? You know, it's it's Oh. Nicholas, we After you just put that all out that you're having a crappy time, right? Mhm. Um I don't want to add to it, but I feel like you need to know it. So I'm okay. Your mom is fine. Is my dad home? Okay, he drinks. Your dad or your stepdad? Just the stepdad. My dad or your dad? Okay. I I I don't know who I I don't talk to your real dad. Mhm. I'm good. Okay. Your mom went in your house. Mhm. And I believe it she found your roommate. Mhm. Deceased. Your mom found him. She's very shaken up. Mhm. He did it. Who did it? You've been buying a lot of drugs from a lot of people lately. Who buys Mike. [clears throat] Okay. He said he would stop. He said he would stop. Wilson had completed a drug rehab program. He had a steady job and was doing well. No drugs were in his system. What kind of drugs was he buying? He has a history of um excessive Xanax use, Percocet, you know, and coke and everything. And he just told me he better start eating right, you know, and but he relapsed, you know? When he relapses, he doesn't remember things and I guess he takes as much as he can and I guess his heart whatever I know it couldn't take much more, so. That's the way to go and to be [snorts] Was he in treatment or anything? Uh-huh. Where was he in treatment at? No clue. Okay. Did you guys talk about it at all? I had to make sure he was okay with me. But um he said you had a drug problems after the fact, so I was like, oh, [ __ ] But um I found little bits and pieces of all over the house slowly and slowly. Pieces of bars. Xanax? Mhm. Okay. How much do you think he would take? He said six a day. Six bars a day or six green ones. Or he would He had so many that he would leave them out not talk for a week and he'd come back and wake up with people he didn't know or invite people over he didn't know, you know? Did he invite people you didn't know to the house? Sometimes, yeah. I didn't like it. I just stayed in my room. [snorts] Mhm. Mhm. Where is the mom now? I believe she's at home with Daryl. Okay. She's shaken up. No, not helping her out much with anything, maybe. Well, I'm sure her walking into your home [snorts] didn't help her. I mean, I never told her. I never tell her to walk in. She was concerned. She said she didn't know you had a roommate. Yeah. Is that true? That's true? Yeah. Okay. I was trying to save up on expenses for a little bit. Yeah. Loser, huh? No, he's not. Not at all. I've always had roommates. Split the expenses. That's the best way to go. Twice. Where is Mike now? He's probably at the morgue. I never even talked to anyone who knew we weren't friends on the job. [snorts] Was he dating anybody? I thought he was gay for a little bit. He kept inviting I just wanted to invite some guys over. I just went in the car and two of them in the car in my room and walked away. But he kept inviting people over and I don't know, you know. Any girls? No girls. That's why. No girls ever came over. Okay. Just a few iPads. You [clears throat] know. And they were friends from I don't know. I don't know. I didn't talk to them. I would just just watch TV in my bedroom with them. What I majorly did was just start driving again. So. Does anybody else have a key to your house? Um I think Mike did a little thing with a barber and made a new key, but I don't know. I had told him not to do that, but that's how his little green thing you have. What's that? What they do with the key, took his little key and made a little green thing. Like a spare key or No spare key, but a key just You can copy a key like that or something. Well. But I never saw him. You You only had one key, so. So, he had a key and you had a key? Mhm. And mom has a key? I guess so. I don't know. [snorts] Mhm. So, we we definitely need some help here. Nicholas. Mhm. [snorts] Cuz Mike didn't just die. Mhm. He was killed. In your house. [ __ ] Yeah. Any ideas? Drugs. He kept getting these uh these Mexican people I don't know if they're from another job and we all knew that they're illegals and what they deal with and but sometimes the boss keeps them I don't know why they didn't want to give me identification, but they do have a lot of drugs that, you know, and Mike getting deals and getting his paycheck on, you know. So. I don't think that they would be the type to do that. The Mexicans wouldn't do that? [snorts] It depends. I don't know. could have done it? I don't know. Probably the same type of people that were after me. Do you have those type of people over your house? No, but I made a lot of bad bad friends over when I was in Seattle. And uh they knew where I lived and they followed me messing with my drugging me. You know. It's funny, huh? All that stuff happened in Seattle and they all ended up moving over here to Florida, huh? When was the last time somebody messed with your car? In Seattle, Washington. Was that back in 2017? Um I don't remember. Maybe 2019. So, you think somebody followed you from Seattle and did that to Mike? Well, they only wanted to hurt me because I I made them really angry at me and they're a bunch of rich old people. They could do anything to you. They could do anything they want. They had so much money. They had all the cops in their pocket. And they just badly do bad stuff to me. The detectives aren't sure what to make of LaFontaine's wild, unsubstantiated claims. They serve no purpose and only make him sound unreliable. They've been knowing for so long. And um and then they finally put this thing over my head and told me that I needed to get out of town or else they're going to kill me or some [ __ ] and just be You got to be careful of what you're doing next, so. I didn't think they would be coming over here, but probably isn't. But they had a lot of money. They're a bunch of rich old white people. They will do anything to tear you down or do whatever they want to do to make you die. But they can't do it naturally. They got to do it and they're really smart. [snorts] Anyways. When I ran out of there, I um I was already awake for 24 hours, but I It was just these people all around me, you know, and following me everywhere I went, so I got in my Jeep and I drove 13 hours to San Jose, California and I finally got on a plane and came home. So. Came home where it was safe. Yeah. Mhm. And I know for a fact that I know that something is there because after I came back, now a month later, all of this stuff started happening to the world, you know. Right when I came back, COVID started. All these uh earthquakes, all these fires, everything. Like right when I came back, the world was normal. I had gone over there and messed some [ __ ] up. I made some angry old rich white people mad. And then I get home and then now the world has a problem and then there's fights underground and you hear bombs under the ground going off and then weird lights in the sky, you know. It's It's not I'm not wrong. Like I was like I was really raped and attacked there and then cuz I I don't know. I stood up against them and they got me and now I'm They got me again. They sent me to hell again. The world's got some problems, Nicholas. That's a given. Mhm. The world is definitely broken at this point. Mhm. With COVID and the liars and everything else. I get it. It's a lot to take in. You know what? I heard I heard them all the cops on the radio. They're like, "What's wrong with our signals?" They're like, "We're getting jammed." Like I tried messaging you, but you can't. The radios aren't working. Mine was the only people on the radio. I know for a fact that there's something out there or some people with a lot of money blocking that cuz they wanted to pick me back up again. They wanted to grab me. But we grabbed you. Right? The police grabbed you. Mhm. We're the good guys. Mhm. Do you believe that? You know, if I knew every detail and everything, I could make an informed decision, but right now all I know is that the medical personnel aren't, but I met a few police officers that have the right head and they're they really helped me think that yes, there's some justice, you know. Of course. There's a lot of good ones out there. [snorts] But right now we're trying to figure out what happened to Mike. What happened? I don't know. That's what we're trying to figure out. Well, he could Okay. Yeah, I'm trying to get my blood flowing. [clears throat] I mean, can I see him? He's set there. Medical examiner. Um What would you do if you saw him? I'd probably try resuscitate him or something cuz you know, I knew he wasn't going to last long like that, living the way he was living. Almost 400 lbs. Taking drugs and eating gallons of ice cream every day. [snorts] So. I'm I'm What was the problem with his blood? Do you know him? What happened in this around the time that I I was getting attacked, too. So, maybe it was like a hit and they tried to get both of us there or something cuz I was telling them a lot of stuff about what happened. And he was saying that he could see that there's something there that there's people that will do anything. So, either get someone out of the way or stop You know? And like he's like, "Yeah, I want you to We'll go against like the bad part." You know, there's always sleep people talk about like deep state, but they don't really know what it is or can't explain anything. So. So, you guys shared a common Mhm. Really close. Belief. Mhm. We're really close. So, you guys discussed this and everything. Mhm. But, we couldn't figure out how to fight it. So. LaFountaine's line of thinking concerned Wilson and he tried to humor him. Wilson may have inadvertently said something to send LaFountaine into a rage. Was he afraid? No, he wanted to go at him. He wanted to get him good. He wanted to stand up. Mhm. Do you think that's why he ended up the way he is? Mhm. Sometimes when you believe in your heart that you can overcome something. But, now I'm going to I will I know that my stepdad can take care of my mom, but I haven't heard from my dad in weeks. I don't know if he's okay. Cuz And also just another way into my life. Is your dad not well? He just drinks a lot and he doesn't answer the phone sometimes and he has a dog that's all he has. That's all he has is a dog. He can't talk to him. When was the last time you talked to your dad? Two, three weeks ago. Was he okay? He sounded really sad. [clears throat] He sounded sad? Mhm. Why is he sad? He's just a sad old man. Is he? Okay. [snorts] Had a lot of bad stuff happen with wives, I guess. Mhm. Sometimes women can do that. Who do you think did that to Mike? [snorts] I have a bunch of faces that I can remember, but I have no proof of anything. Who did you first suspect? I knew I knew I was on the come up of getting of being ready. But, Mike was I had the determination and willpower to do the same. But, um I'm talking about like CEOs, like FSAs, whatever, like top brass company leading people that have all the power and have a secret underground life that they do their bidding with. And these are the people that grab kids off the streets with no families and then do do stuff that they want. [snorts] It's so It's pretty bad, but there's evidence coming out now. Okay. They're going down. [snorts] You know people who do things like that. I call them devils. And we would like people for that to go down. Okay. This is We're on your side for that. Mhm. I can see you have a lot of pain going on. It's hard. Did somebody help you when your brutal incident happened in Seattle? Did the police help you? No, they didn't. They were there though. [snorts] They were there. They took me off the highway. I was heading home and they brought me farther from my house. They told me exactly where I lived and they brought me farther from my house. And then I asked them which way was north, which way was south and they told me opposite directions. Like I don't know which way the sun sets. But, um Yeah, they They just tried to get me to sleep in the streets or something. I don't know. Break me down. [snorts] But, I made it. I made it to my apartment. I knew I would die. And got on my Jeep and I went home. I was pretty famous over there, but no one will tell you that. In Seattle? Mhm. Why are you famous? [clears throat] I was just because they couldn't kill me. Because you got away. Mhm. I [snorts] believe that. I believe they could kill me. Yeah. Mhm. And you were living your life. [snorts] Right? I was not. Do you want some tissue or something there? I could use another water. Yeah. When was the last time you talked to your mom? I talked to her yesterday morning. A few days, four days, three days. Do you still Yeah, I sent him to uh the Bellagio the other day with him. Oh. Is that like a Do you do that weekly, monthly? This is bi-weekly thing we do now. Oh, that's good. How long has your mom been with your stepdad? I can tell I tend to see that you don't really care for your stepdad. Yeah, he's not a good guy. How long has your mom been married to him? Three years, four years now. Yeah, [snorts] four years. Mhm. He's not a good guy cuz they don't get along well or I can just see it in his eyes. See it in his eyes. Mhm. [snorts] In Seattle, the traumatic incident that happened to you. Yeah. [snorts] Did you tell your mom about that? Everything. Everything. And it was the rich white men. And you said they brutally raped you. Mhm. But, wherever you go, kid, will be around. Have you been having those same type of people Have you been seeing those people around lately? No, they just came up. It just came up. Mhm. And you've been back for a couple years, right? Mhm. Is that what it was like? 2018. Right? Mhm. But, like 10, 15% of the people from Seattle moved here. Yeah. You notice that? Things aren't going well in Seattle, are they? They're fighting the government over there cuz they know it's corrupt and I know I'm right. Mhm. Do you know anybody that Mike was arguing with or anything? I don't know their names. I don't know them. I can see their faces anymore. If they just sit on the couch with them. Mhm. They [snorts] bring them in the room. And so I You would say bring them in the room like but they go in the room I don't know where they went. You left so I didn't want to know. You don't want to know what they were doing in the room. drugs or dealing or something. I don't know what they were doing like selling drugs or something so You don't want to be a part of it. Mhm. [snorts] Have you ever used drugs? Yeah. What kind of drugs? I'm a very um high functioning alcoholic and I used to smoke weed but not anymore so So nothing more than that. Yeah. And do you mean high functioning alcoholic like you can drink a lot of alcohol and it doesn't affect you? Is that what you mean by that? It calms me down. It calms you down. The alcohol calms you. Mhm. I don't know why we don't have tissue in this place. We have paper towels in the that's Not soft enough. Paper towels. Sorry. I looked [snorts] at everybody just asking nobody's got tissue. Is anybody at the desk at their desks? No. So everybody's off right? Yeah. Interesting. Exactly. Just us. So I'm sorry. I missed We were talking about his mom and if he had told his mom everything that happened in Seattle. He was brutally raped there by the white rich people so and just recently they've been it's been coming back right? Mhm. I'm sorry to hear that Nicholas. Mhm. Do you think that that might have sprung something psychologically? I don't have any mental problems ma'am. No mental problems at all? I mean somebody that that happens to they tend to I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. If that happens to you you tend to go through something. Well I think it was a little bit less to do with the property. Okay. [snorts] Fair enough. Has anybody ever tried to tell you you have mental problems? Lavontaine did not have any documented health issues which would help the detectives to determine whether or not he was faking diminished capacity to get his charges reduced or dropped. Um I actually went to a psychiatrist [snorts] for a while ago back from Seattle. His name is Dr. Zalewski. And he said that I had schizophrenia. Mhm. How'd you feel about that? On what grounds? What do you mean? I asked him on what grounds do you think I have schizophrenia and he was like well you believe people are after you and I'm like yes. And I'm like you believe people drugged you and I'm like yes. But you don't remember seeing them. No because they blew smoke in my face and then the smoke or powder that was in my face made me black out and he's like see right there that's a schizophrenic break right there. You think that people threw some smoking something in your face and you passed out. And I'm like yeah but literally history and books and movies prove that that's a thing and he's like well it's not you know. And then he said that I made everything up. He said you made everything up. Mhm. Mhm. That's the problem sometimes with doctors. You believe it. You feel it. You know it's true and then you have somebody telling you it's not. You know your mom believed you. Yeah. We had a long conversation. And that I would never do anything to her Mike and she knows if I did have a roommate I would treat them right. She's probably really mad about the money thing. But damn she I knew that she could understand that what I was saying was the truth. Mhm. [snorts] Were you having money issues with mom or No. Oh okay. I was doing really good. I thought you said that she was mad about the money thing. I don't think she would be. She doesn't seem like the way it typically would be mad about money. I don't know about that. I don't know about that. I don't know. No. She actually said that she thought you would be getting a roommate at some point because you need help with paying the taxes on the house or insurance or something like that. Yes. Cuz the house is is actually hers right? Mhm. [snorts] So she believed you were going to get a roommate anyways whether you had told her that you had one or not. Mhm. [snorts] Do you know how your Jeep got to where it was? I don't know if it was a bridge right? Over a bridge? Yeah. Do you know how it got there? I know I was the one that got out of it. Was anybody else in it with you? I don't remember. Someone was trying to I don't remember. I think I was being manipulated somehow. Either the car in front of me or the car behind me they were doing something and I just pulled over real fast and had to get out. I don't remember how or why or what made me. I knew that I saw a church and that was pretty good idea. I don't know if it was a church but it looked like a church. [snorts] Nicholas did you cut your hair recently? I've been cutting my hair slowly for a long time. Oh okay. Cheaper than a barber? Cheaper than a barber? It's not cheaper I don't trust anyone with scissors around my neck. Oh oh yeah all right fair enough. So that is your hair in the sink? Yeah. Okay. So when when we process scenes when we have the evidence There's a whole bunch of hair in the sink too. Oh okay. That's yours too? Yeah. Okay. It's old though. The hair in the sink or the hair under the sink? Both I believe dirtier left there for a while. Oh all right. Is is there a reason why you keep your hair? I don't know what I'm going to do with it. No. No. All right. Where is this from? [snorts] Can I see those? Um Well I mean there's just basically um your house your living room. Let me see. Is that your house? Holy [ __ ] Mhm. Is that your Jeep? And it's in the driveway. Red tape. Do you know about the red tape? Yeah red tape's not good. Red tape's never good right? What's that tape mean to you? It's just bad. [snorts] Do not enter do not cross it's an investigation. That was us. That was us doing our investigation. So it comes in stages. Mhm. Well now we're at another stage where we're looking for assistance. [snorts] On what? Why and who happened inside that house. That's your grandma's house right? Mhm. Grandma. After Mike was uh [snorts] deceased Mhm. did you ever go in that house? No. No I didn't see anything. You didn't see anything. Mhm. Did you see anybody doing anything to Mike? I didn't see anything. Okay. They get him on the couch? I don't know where they got It wasn't pretty though. That would be an understatement. Wilson had been stabbed with a knife multiple times and still had a sledgehammer lodged in his skull. [snorts] Seemed like a lot of anger. And it has us that we have to question why. The anger. Mhm. Mhm. So because it's your home Yeah, I see now. You say we have we have to ask who goes there? Who hangs out there? Who is the There's a camera on my computer that records. They told me the door was open. There's a it helped. There's a camera on my computer that's pointed outwards to the door and I use OBS and Twitch to stream it. Usually constant little thing here. So you think this was on camera? No, I'm saying if the camera was on it could hear them. Where's that computer sitting? In that You walk in, it's on the right. You go in, it's all the way down to the next room. And so I got So So you walk in through the living room and then there's a room here a room here. Are you saying that room right there? You walk in through the front door and then you walk all the way and then there's a room here and a room here and it's in that room. Is there a passcode [clears throat] on the computer? Yeah. Mhm. Do you want to give us the password? No. Okay. No, my my money's on there. Your money? Mhm. We're not looking for your money. I promise you we're not looking for your money. We don't make a lot of money but we're not into stealing people's money. Mhm. So you think that captured what happened? Doubt it. It could hear something though. And you say it's always open? Some My door there is but when it's on sleep mode but I set my sleep mode 3 days. So if it's off on 3 days it's off. So I wouldn't know for sure. Why do you have that set up? This is Playing video games? Mhm. So that records what's going on in your house? It records when I play video games and put them on Twitch. What is Twitch? I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. No worries. What kind of video games do you play? Steam. Steam? Mhm. What's that? We probably shouldn't talk about video games. No worries. All right. We don't know anything about them so it would be a one-sided conversation probably. [snorts] Let's talk about Mark. Mhm. You want to know? We want to know what happened to him. Yeah, me too. You know why it happened? You know why it happened? Just making plans. Making a plan? Mhm. What kind of plan? Something to get back at the bad guys. How do you think the bad guys got into the house? I don't know. I don't know how I got attacked up there either. That's my government, your mom. Mhm. [snorts] She didn't know I was doing I don't know. I don't think there was only a few people from work that came over. I don't even know their names. Kamali is one of them. Kamali? Yeah. Is that a girl or a boy? Mhm. Both boys. Anybody else? Not that I can figure out. Who the names were or what they were doing and all that. He pays rent, you know, it's He's He could do pretty much half of what you do, you know. What they're for. You know. They're over so they do something. Were you having money issues? No. Do you Do you pay your mom rent or do you You don't. You pay her rent. I pay I pay utilities, yeah. And and then she has to pay the taxes on the property. Well, that's the thing. You don't have to pay taxes till the end of the year but yeah. Oh, okay. She wasn't doing it this year. She wasn't doing it this She was doing it this So you got to save up for next year. Mhm. So if you wanted to go somewhere and buy something, you'd have no problem buying it cuz you have money, right? Mhm. Do you guys split the refrigerator? You have food on one side, there's food on the other side? Kind of. She gives me money to go buy him stuff at Costco. And I would just get a bunch of stuff. [snorts] And then yeah, when he started stealing from the job food, I'm like, that's you can't do that. I think he stole food from the job so he could pay more money for drugs. So it didn't really sit well. Of course not. He's living in your house. Mhm. What else was he stealing? He was stealing from other people, not me. He wasn't stealing from you. Just food was nothing, you know. But just the thought of the the stealing it didn't sit well. Talking about like the bag of 50 wings. You know, it'd be 2 days or something that's probably worth like 120 bucks or something. It's like, come on, dude. That was from the job. Mhm. It's a lot [snorts] of money. Mhm. I'm sure the job wouldn't have been happy if he found out. Right? I was about to say anything. [snorts] How did you say I know I heard you tell the medics what happened to your leg. What happened to your leg? Jumped in [snorts] Jump what? Who did that to you? Oh, they did that to you? No. I jumped. Oh. I jumped in the water. You jumped in the water? Mhm. And we bought it. Uh where's the jump in the water at? It's a female close to my house. No no real location. Just a place near my house. A female close to your house? Mhm. Does that take you swimming? Jeez. No no offense but like I feel like I'm being repeatedly asked the same thing from everybody and I'm sitting here and I smell like piss. Okay. You want to see? Mark didn't die. Where is he? He's under the rug. Your mom found that. That's why we're here. We need help. [snorts] That's bad, right, Nicholas? It's bad. You need to know what what happened. So, for his family. Me, too. For your mom. For your mom. For your mom. [ __ ] mom. [ __ ] dad. [ __ ] mom. Would it make you feel better to call your dad? I can't I can't talk to him. I can't. I know you're concerned about him. though, right? That I'm going to get get out of these hospitals like this. I don't know if he knows. I haven't talked to him. I knew it was going to be something. I didn't think it'd be that bad. I thought they were just going to try to rob me or something. Who's Danny? We need help, Nicholas. Yeah, and when it comes to justice and the truth happens, everyone's going to see that there's a certain amount of control and if you don't stand up and do something about it, the whole world's always going to go to [ __ ] And if they keep taking away the good people that they know is going to do good, then it's a loss. You can't help that. The person that did this is not good. They don't want to do good things. That'd be at least two or three. He must be a big guy. He can't He can't go down like You're saying he's pushing 400, right? Yeah, he's a big guy. He's not going to go down that easily. [snorts] Do you need any more water? [snorts] What happened to your legs? [clears throat] Series of unfortunate events. Series of unfortunate events, like what? This is so that's Huh? Bad stuff? Mhm. [snorts] Involving uh you or other people or Okay. What's up? How can I help you, sir? No, I just I just want to come in and talk to you. I'm Detective Lyons. How long you Where do you live at? 3710 Pasadena Ave. How long you living over there? A month and a half. Almost about a month. Is that your grandmother's house? Mhm. And she passed away? Yeah, all of a sudden. Uh my condolences, man. It's It's tough. Mhm. When did When did your grandma When did your grandma pass away? Mhm. How'd you How'd you get that stuff on your hands? LaFontaine has a lot of nervous energy, and he isn't happy about being questioned by another detective. His body language indicates he's trying to hide something. Mhm. I got mugged and my stuff taken. The first thing I guess is that they saw me limping, so I was weak. Okay. Since I've been chased, I had to jump over fences. I was going through barbed wire. How many people chasing you? Two people. You all right? No. You ever Do you do drugs or anything like that? Nope. I don't do drugs. I don't I don't drink alcohol. Well, who doesn't? We don't want to charge anybody with anything as serious or this like that. So, I would like to exclude you from anything that this person did. So, I would like to like to know if you would consent to your DNA. You guys already have everything. You guys took my blood twice already. No, no, no. We We did not. This That's separate from us. easily take it from a flake, a hair piece. I mean, you you For the police, it's so easy to get DNA. She seemed like she's very gentle. she can't hold up like that. I don't know how she can deal with me with everything. With What do you mean? I mean, Seattle and stuff. Nobody believed me and she was the only one to believe me. Oh, I mean I didn't want my closest friends believing me besides Who's Mike? My roommate. Tim. Oh. I'm sorry. I don't mean Who's Mike? No. Or are you like cool and mellow? Yeah. [snorts] So So your mom's saying it's you, but you're saying it's not. Um I mean she she knows you probably the best, right? Mhm. Cuz everybody in like this earth is huge. Okay. And the person that knows you the best would be you and your mother. You're saying it's not you, but your mom's saying it is. Okay. I mean If you're If you're picking up trash, that's one thing. It is what it is. You're going through trash, you're going through trash. Mhm. I mean do you Is that Is that something you don't want to do? Sometimes. Sometimes. What do you look for in trash? I mean you can find anything, you know. So just take a few looks sometimes. Doesn't hurt. One man's Just One man's trash is another man's treasure. Is that how that goes? I found a few things sometimes. Okay. What are some of the things that you found? Like a a cool bottle opener, a lighter, a hat. Mhm. You still have that stuff? No. No. Some glasses. People just discarded them and threw them away. Mhm. [snorts and clears throat] Who does that go with money to? Bad people probably. Probably. Probably rich people. I don't know. Interesting. Why? What's the story on that? I'm just wondering you came in here with a guy I've never seen. He was a lot of people's money. He looks pretty hurt. Yeah? So I'm just wondering if you if you know him. [clears throat] Oh, Seattle. Rains a lot there? It was It was all right there. Yeah? Mhm. Cold and rainy? The weather was perfect, but the people were terrible. Why is that? Mhm. So what brought you back here to West Palm? Um I didn't feel like staying there. Staying where? Where was it you were going to school where I was going? Is that where you were going to school? Yeah. What were you studying? Coding. Coding? Machine [snorts] coding, computers and stuff. Okay. You were pretty good at this stuff for that. I was getting to be. And then I saw something What was up? Then I left. What was up with that? It was people trying to do bad things. Yeah, unfortunately that's a pretty common in society. You know, people are bad. People do things bad things all the time. I'm talking really bad things. Like not just go to jail for a few days thing. Like what? Like kidnapping and torturing and you know. Pure mischief and stuff. You know, that kind of stuff. Really high end things. Is that something you were ever involved in? No. I tried to make people aware and stop it. You want to? I mean maybe I could do something. You don't know though. You sure? Mhm. You'd be surprised, man. I can't. No? Mhm. I need to talk to a general or something. A general? Mhm. Okay. [snorts and clears throat] You've been involved with any of that stuff? Ever hurt anybody? No. I only did to defend myself if I have to, but they haven't come at me like that. No. No one's ever uh I mean when you got these scrapes and stuff, did you ever You had to defend yourself? I couldn't. They had a gun, so I couldn't do anything. Okay. They were chasing me for a long while. And [snorts] what day was this? I don't remember. All of All 5 days had seemed like one whole day. Okay. Mhm. So all this stuff happened at one time? It seems like it, yeah. To me. [clears throat] [snorts] Mhm. I don't want to think about stuff like that. Got any remorse? Someone trying to get away. I don't know. I'm just curious. How do you feel inside? I I'm I'm glad to be alive, but I'm [ __ ] terrified. Okay. Mhm. LaFontaine has not shown any emotional response regarding Wilson's death. He seems completely detached from the situation and unable to even feign remorse. What are you terrified of? Nothing's going to happen to you here. I know. I'm at HQ. Mhm. Followed me to each headquarters. Okay. That's cool. And nothing's going to happen. That means you got the watching out for me or you got the top people here trying to figure some crazy [ __ ] out. So it's That's not going to happen here. What do you mean? There's no one out here in this police department. No, I believe you. There's no one really. Okay. No one's No one's going to hurt you. No one's going to try to hurt you. Mhm. I mean You seem like a very nice guy, a very genuine a good [snorts] guy. Are you? Mhm. Trying to be. Yeah. Well, I mean sometimes sometimes bad things happen to good guys. Mhm. I still smell real bad in here. Why? You haven't showered in a couple days? Nope. Okay. Who's your main guy? Mhm. Yeah. Good luck with your fight. Fight for what you believe in. Good luck with your fight. Mhm. You got a lot of Kind of. You have a lot of fights? No. So you don't like fights? Mhm. And what happened? I don't know. I just want to get out of the game. They messed up out of the game? Mhm. Because when I was in Seattle, they don't leave. They don't leave traces. They come in. They do what they do. And then and then they go. And then You just you see like there's video cameras that that mess up when they go around and there's radios that don't work when people need to contact people. You know. He's the one that would go to battle with you, right? Mhm. I mean, a guy that comes in like I just lost a good friend of mine. So, I had that guy. He would stand next to me. He'd go to battle with me. Mhm. You know? And I would be there for them, you know? So, who would want to hurt him? There's no point. That's what I'm going to go over with him. I don't know. Just if people all they really want to do is like try to it's not make the world a better place. It's like rid of getting rid of tyranny and [ __ ] Like everything you see, people can see. He's like, "Dude, I don't even remember going to work for the past 3 days." And I'm like, "Dude, you got to stop that." Right. So. I mean, that could cause a rift between you two, right? Yeah, cuz he cuz he goes out and he meets all these people. He does these things and then he he has this Lyft card. He can go wherever he wants and he comes home with like different people and I don't know. So, I don't know what what what he did or But I don't know what I'm talking about. He's not, man. So, you're thinking that So, he was into something and one of these people that he possibly brought into your house cuz that's your bathroom, right? Yeah. You think [clears throat] someone like did something to him? [snorts] I don't I don't think it's that easy for that to happen like Right. I don't know who it was or what happened. I mean, that could If I if I live with somebody who was a drug dog, you know, a drug user or drug Yeah, I was trying to help That could That could start I got I can see where [snorts] frustration would set in between you two. I mean Yeah. This only happened Mhm. 494, like some things you're like, "Hey, man." It's like kind of cleaning up after yourself or something like that. At some point you get aggravated. I know you're trying to say, but no, it's not like that. What am I trying to say? I just know you're trying to say that it's not like that. It wasn't like that. Did you have real close Yeah. Is that where you got into computers? Um Computers didn't come till college. Okay. Before I was doing coding, I was doing chemistry. And then my professors kept telling me that like half of what they teach us is lies. Like they wouldn't tell the other kids, but they'd tell me cuz I was like pretty top hot. And I wanted to understand what what how is this going to be useful in life. And they're like, "Well, it's not really, but this is what This is how it is." And "This is what the world is like. You get a piece of paper, you know, you're better off going to trade school, learning stuff." And I'm like, "Why am I wasting my time and my parents' money doing this?" Right. So. You know, like I moved to try something else. And it didn't work out, so. You don't get a lot of stuff off No. [snorts] But Jamal's always there for you? Yeah. And I've done nothing but good to her ever because I I'm just not a good son. Because I don't just don't call her. I don't tell her my feelings. I don't tell her anything about my life. I'm just I don't know. Do I go to sisters? Step family. I don't know. No, I don't have them. I [snorts] don't talk to them. How do you sleep at night? Sleep good? Pretty good. Really good. Good? Mhm.
