with the DL Police Department was on patrol on Ocean Avenue and he observed a 2018 Honda being driven erratically as the driver headed Northbound he followed the vehicle and eventually activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop he notified dispatch about the traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as shatty corm [Applause] good evening officer Medina with the deal police how you doing good how are you good good good can I please have your license registration and insurance please sure I'm sorry my car is a mess oh no take take your time take your time while you're looking for yourself I just have to tell you that I do have a body cam it's just recording audio and video I just got to let you know that all right is just fine where we coming from um I actually um yeah let my friend borrow some money okay where and I have no idea where I'm going oh okay where do you live do you live around here I live in ocean ocean in Ocean in Ocean okay you live in Ocean is that where you came from or you came from somewhere else no I came from Long Branch Long Branch okay my license you have your license at least and then look for the rest of your stuff and to go to that side see if I can help you out hang on as he approached shad and asked for her documents he observed indicators of impairment she seemed to have difficulty locating all her documents she told patrolman Medina that she had left Long Branch but she was headed Northbound in the direction of Long Branch based on his suspicion of impairment poman Medina called for backup shatty was eventually asked to perform field sobriety exercises window the window's [Applause] up oh oh you can turn it on to turn the window to put the window down if that's what you got to do I think it went under my seat under your seat and I remember it got like dirty okay there we go going to step out and look for it you just roll me you said yeah run the RL and roll me a unit please no rush [Applause] nystagmus hgn test the second exercise was the walk and turn test and the third exercise was the oneel leg stand test the other officer searched her vehicle and observed prohibited items while the field sobriety tests were being administered so we're just going to do some tests real quick to make sure that you're all right all right is that okay all right can you come over here for me real quick um actually just give me one second so CIP on the uh on the thing so we're probably not going to get H in up anyway um but that was definitely there I think pretty sure that's what pill underneath the driver's seat as well okay so we're going with that as of right now all right all righty let me hit these lights hang on [Applause] shoty right all right CH do you have uh do you have any medical conditions uh as regarding your eyes do you wear contacts glasses anything like that I wear contacts you wear contacts do you have them in right now yes you do so you can see right yeah so if I show you this pen can you see that the tip of that pen sure yeah you can all right so have you ever done this test before it's called htn okay what I'm going to have you do is I'm going to have you have your your hands at your side mhm all right feet together okay so what you're going to do is you're going to follow your eyes and your eyes only with the pen so do not move your head you think exercises chatty was placed under arrest for DWI I after she was placed under arrest her vehicle was impounded for a 12-hour hold according to John's law so we're going to take you we're going to take you in for what all right so you didn't pass any of those test all right so you're driving Under the Influence turn around not D also I also all right I also found a crack pip in the door all right in Police Department for further processing as sergeant Brian Eagan and patrolman Medina searched the car shagy was criminally charged under to 30 6 to 2A based on the prohibited items that were found in her car shat was also issued the following traffic citations operating Under the Influence reckless driving careless driving failure to possess drivers license and traffic on Mark Lanes [Music] come Middletown on July 13th 2023 shatty also has multiple prior arrests from other agencies including mckin ocean wall and [Music] Hazlet I want it open
