observed a Y2 15 Audi A3 driving unusually slow on Ocean of new southbound as he got closer to the vehicle he observed the driver swerving across the double yellow line and he clocked the driver at 34 mph in a 40 mph Zone he made a u-turn and waited in the shoulder until the vehicle passed him he pursued the vehicle with multiple other vehicles in front of him and he was eventually able to initiate a traffic stop the trollman G andisi made contact with the 20 26-year-old driver of the Audi convertible and she was identified as Ashley I thought that it was 35 I well it's 35 well it's actually 35 in summertime oh it's 30 in 30 in downtown sebrite but it's 40 over here I apologize so you had a few cars behind you and like you were kind of driving slow and you were like sving in your lane I was making sure you weren't Tri in driving or anything we pulled over because my Bluetooth wasn't working that's why I turned my car off and turned it back on okay gotcha yeah usually it's a 35 I guess in impairment he radioed for patrolman Peter farmer to respond to the scene because he anticipated asking the driver to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises after running her license through the system he asked Ashley where she was coming from she told him that she had been at Tommy's Tavern in sebrite and that she was headed to Asbury Park B based on his suspicion of impairment test he observed the lack of sooth Pursuit distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45° he also observed a vertical nagus the second exercise was the walk and turn test during the walk and turn test Ashley failed to touch Heel To Toe on each step while taking an incorrect number of steps the third exercise was the one leg stand test and Ashley failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion while putting her foot down multiple times the final exercise was the lack of convergence test during the lack of convergence test he observed both of her eyes not Converge on the stimulus when the stimulus came into the bridge of the nose can I turn my car off you can turn it off leave it on whatever you whatever your pleasure is it's up to you down by your sides this is the start position for this test I want you to remain there and tell you to tell you to do something else you understand that okay okay so when I tell you to it doesn't matter that I'm cold and I'm [Applause] sh uh I'm pretty chilly too but no it doesn't matter so great basically what I want you to do can you just get back in the start position for me yes thank you foot planted and you're going to do your uh turn yourself around with a series of small steps just like this once you've turned around so basically like I'm in the military when I'm not in the military that's wonderful well just yeah just turn yourself around with a few small steps so then once once you've turned around all the way you're going to take a series of nine heel tub steps back so uh you didn't it's going to look like this one two three on your ninth step you're going to keep your lead foot planted take a series of small steps turn yourself around one two three again I only this test I want you to keep your hands down by your side the entire time make sure you're walking Heel To Toe steps all the way down the line don't stop the test until you fully complete the test and test for you now so the start position for this test is your feet together just like this and your hands down by your side can you get into the start position for me all right thank you so so when I tell you to I want you to lift the foot of your choice um it could be whichever foot you're more comfortable standing on you're going to lift it approximately 6 in off the ground and you're going to keep it P the ground just like that okay so 6 in about the size of a c can would you like me to hold it this way or this way I'm going to get there I'm going to demonstrate it for you so when I tell you you're going to raise a foot approximately 6 inch off the ground about the height of a c can you're going to keep your hands down by your side when you're doing the test you're going to look down at the tip of your foot you're going to count out loud 1001 1002 1003 until I tell you to stop okay you understand so it's going to look like this 1001 1002 1003 1 4 1005 1006 all the way until I tell you to stop so some things to note during the test I want you to keep your hands down by your Sid the entire time I want you to make sure you look at the tip of your foot absolutely keep your foot was placed under arrest for driving Under the Influence after she was placed under arrest Ashley name dropped and indicated that her uncle was a State Trooper on multiple occasions patrolman gisi retrieved her property put the cover on her convertible and eventually transported her to the Monmouth Beach Police Department for further [Applause] processing okay Miss um I think you've had too
