At that time, Trooper Ethan Hiland was able to intercept in the pursuit near the 134- mile marker and took over primary. The pursuit continued west on Interstate 30 and exited at the 131- mile marker at excess speeds of 100 mph. The pursuit continued west on Baseline Rd. Mr. Banegas passed a vehicle on the right shoulder when he left the roadway and collided with a culvert at 9824 Baseline Rd. During the investigation of the accident, I observed the motorcycle had bald tires. I could smell an odor of intoxicants on his person.
