Description

This intense bodycam video from December 5, 2022, captures a wild scene during the arrest of Daniel Hilts, a 32-year-old from Punta Gorda, Florida, at Anthony’s Restaurant & Pub in Joliet, Illinois. Shot inside a police car at 1:50 AM, this YouTube Short shows Hilts, handcuffed, confused and panicking, asking, “Why are you bringing me out this way, man? I said I wasn’t being arrested.” He questions, “Where am I going? I live right around the corner,” and realizes in disbelief, “I’m going to county, y’all?” He adds, “They put me in the same car as the guy who had something against me,” pleading for help. This heated moment is perfect for true crime fans.
The trouble started when Hilts, kicked out of Anthony’s for causing a scene, tried to drive his car, leading Officers Joseph Robinson and Robert Bukala to step in. After refusing ride-shares or a security escort to his hotel, Hilts got aggressive, resulting in a takedown and charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, obstructing justice, criminal trespass to property, and resisting arrest. The police car interior and neon-lit Anthony’s parking lot create a raw backdrop for this real-life crime drama, ideal for fans of unfiltered police bodycam videos.
True crime fans will love Hilts’ confused outbursts and desperate pleas, giving a real look at a tense police showdown. The jail realization and conflicting info claims turn up the drama in this crazy arrest. Was Hilts misled, or did he make things worse?
