Description

Newly-released footage from the Tulsa Police Department shows a deadly officer-involved shooting from December.

Investigators say Cody Foos had several interactions with officers leading up to the shooting, which happened on Dec. 31.

Officers with the Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse police tried to pull Foos over for a traffic stop. Foos refused, and eventually fired shots at the officers.

TPD officers joined the chase, which ended at Rose Hill Cemetery near Admiral and Yale. Officers used spike strips to damage Foos' car.

Officers say Foos exited the car, armed with two guns. Because he didn't comply with their demands, multiple officers fired, striking Foos.

"It's always sad when anyone loses their life in this situation," said Tulsa Police Captain Richard Meulenberg. "He exhibited extremely violent behavior until then."

Police continue to investigate the shooting, but no charges will be filed against any of the officers who were involved.

"We take every case under extensive review, so what we'll use are the internal processes and use every fact," said Meulenberg. "We use every fact to see if we could do anything better or different so we're still in that process in reviewing all of it since there's so many officers, it takes time."
