Description

REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage captures a DUI suspect making repeated complaints about handcuff tightness before bizarrely questioning an officer about his personal relationships. This bodycam video documents both common restraint complaints and the unexpected personal inquiries that sometimes emerge during processing.

In this police bodycam footage, 46-year-old Shawn Mullarkey begins with typical complaints about restraint discomfort: "These cuffs are so tight. It's cutting off the circulation. Do you see that? I don't have circulation to my hands." This common grievance, captured on the bodycam, represents a frequent claim made by individuals in handcuffs regardless of actual tightness.

She escalates her complaint with profanity: "These cuffs are so fucking tight. I have no circulation to my hands. I have 0 circulation." The repetitive nature of her claims is evident as she continues: "Do you see how tight these things... I have 0 circulation to my hands. I have no circulation to my hands. They are too tight." This persistent repetition, documented on police bodycam, demonstrates a fixation on the restraints despite likely proper application.

When she demands examination—"Do you see how... Yeah look. Look at how red my hands are"—an officer provides a factual explanation: "No because they're too fucking tight." Mullarkey continues protesting: "See this. This is a legal standard," prompting the officer to correct her: "No it's not legal." After checking another cuff, the officer defers further explanation: "Well your attorney can explain that to you."

The interaction takes a bizarre turn when Mullarkey inexplicably asks: "Are you married to Meredith?" This unexpected personal question, recorded on police bodycam, represents a strange pivot from handcuff complaints to the officer's personal life. The officer appropriately questions: "What is my personal relationship..." Mullarkey specifies: "Meredith Wodka."

When the officer states he doesn't know this person, he reasonably asks: "but why does my family situation come into this?" Mullarkey offers the cryptic assessment: "Because Meredith Wodka is a very kind woman." The officer maintains professional boundaries while acknowledging her statement: "I'm sure she is. All my family members are pretty kind people." When he confirms again "Do you know her?" Mullarkey repeats: "I don't know Meredith Wodka, no."

According to court records, this 2022 incident in Hinsdale, Illinois ultimately led to Mullarkey pleading guilty to aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated assault to a peace officer, and resisting or obstructing a police officer. Her plea agreement required participation in the DuPage County Mental Illness Court Alternative Program.

This police bodycam footage highlights both common complaints about restraints and the occasionally bizarre personal questions that emerge during processing, demonstrating how officers must navigate both physical comfort concerns and strange conversational tangents while maintaining professionalism.
