Description

This intense bodycam clip from December 5, 2022, captures a chaotic scene during the arrest of Daniel Hilts, a 32-year-old patron from Punta Gorda, Florida, at Anthony’s Restaurant & Pub in Joliet, Illinois. Filmed in a police car at 1:50 AM, this YouTube Short shows Hilts, in a hooded jacket and cuffed, demanding, “Let me go, I’m in cuffs,” and accusing an officer of spitting, yelling, “You spit on me through an 18-inch shield.” He repeatedly insists, “I wanna get out now,” while officers explain he’s being driven to his motel. This wild chaos is prime for true crime fans.
The drama erupted when Hilts, ejected from Anthony’s for disruptive behavior, tried to drive his car, prompting Officers Joseph Robinson and Robert Bukala to intervene. After rejecting ride-shares or a security escort to his hotel, Hilts got hostile, leading to a takedown and charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, obstructing justice, criminal trespass to property, and resisting arrest. The police car interior and neon-lit Anthony’s parking lot set a gritty stage for this real-life crime saga, perfect for fans of unfiltered police bodycam action.
True crime fans will devour Hilts’ spitting accusations and desperate release demands, offering a raw peek into a tense police chaos. The cuff complaints and motel destination dispute amplify the drama in this wild arrest. Was Hilts out of line, or were the cops too aggressive?
