Description

On July 9, 2024, Hilliard Police in Ohio arrested 35-year-old Matthew Pancake after one of the strangest late-night incidents ever caught on camera.

According to officers, Pancake was spotted after multiple attempted break-ins at Famous Footwear, Roosters restaurant, and Petland. But this wasn’t a normal arrest. When police caught up with him, he was wearing a leopard-print onesie, acting erratically, and sweating profusely.

During a search, officers made an unbelievable discovery: live hamsters hidden inside his pants. Yes, you heard that right. Pancake allegedly stole the animals from Petland during the spree.

Police bodycam footage shows the bizarre scene unfold as officers detain Pancake, who was ultimately charged with breaking and entering and vandalism.

This case quickly went viral online because of its strange details: the unusual outfit, the hidden hamsters, and a last name that sounds almost too unreal for a police report.
