Description

REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage captures the pivotal moment when a drug trafficking suspect provides a complete confession about methamphetamine and cocaine quantities in La Crosse. This bodycam video documents the remarkable admission of ownership that transforms the case from possession to intent to deliver.

In this police bodycam footage, at approximately 25 minutes into the encounter, a suspect makes an extraordinary unprompted confession about drug quantities: "That's what's in the car? Yeah, two ounces and seven grams of powder in my girl car." This candid admission, captured on the bodycam, clearly establishes knowledge of both the presence and precise quantities of controlled substances.

Approximately 20 seconds later, an officer seeks verification about the specifics: "So there's... So the meth is two ounces?" The suspect confirms: "Yeah." The officer continues clarifying: "And the coke is... That's, that's not yours, or?" In a statement that dramatically strengthens the prosecution's case, the suspect declares full ownership: "It's, it's seven, it's seven grams. ounces. It's mine too."

The officer ensures precision in the quantities: "Seven grams. It's mine too." This confirmation, recorded clearly on police bodycam, establishes beyond doubt both knowledge and possession of the narcotics. The officer acknowledges the significant admission: "Okay. All right. I'll put that in my report. Okay."

According to police reports, this February 3, 2023 incident involved 43-year-old Drae Shaun Broadnax fleeing from police during a high-risk traffic stop arranged after an inmate informant provided information about methamphetamine and heroin trafficking. When officers searched the abandoned vehicle, they discovered exactly what the suspect confessed to: 56.4 grams (approximately two ounces) of methamphetamine and 7.5 grams of cocaine.

This police bodycam footage captures a defining moment in drug trafficking investigations: a clear, voluntary confession that perfectly matches the physical evidence, providing prosecutors with exceptionally strong evidence of knowing possession with intent to deliver controlled substances.
