Description

REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage captures a Metropolis, IL resident explaining why they called police about a disturbing and potentially dangerous incident. This bodycam video reveals the unusual behavior that prompted emergency response to a property dispute.

In this police bodycam footage, officers speak with the property owner who called 911, asking a standard opening question: "So what happened?" The homeowner describes an alarming sequence of events: "She started messing with my wood stove and woke me up." This statement, captured on the bodycam, establishes the unauthorized and disturbing nature of the suspect's actions inside someone else's residence.

The property owner continues with a crucial detail about evidence: "I looked at my camera and she was in my car." This reference to security footage, recorded on police bodycam, suggests visual documentation exists of the suspect, later identified as 23-year-old Devonda Lamoureux, illegally entering the caller's vehicle.

Most alarmingly, the homeowner describes a potentially dangerous act: "and she had a log on that was hot and put it in my car." This bizarre and hazardous behavior, documented clearly on the bodycam, explains the urgency of the 911 call and the potential for property damage or even fire. The caller concludes with simple confirmation: "So that's what I called you."

According to police reports, this February 10, 2025 incident in Metropolis, IL involved officers responding to the 200 block of Girard where they encountered Lamoureux, who refused to leave the property despite being unwelcome. When officers attempted to prevent her from approaching the residence again, she physically struggled with them.

This police bodycam footage provides critical context about the alarming behavior that prompted the initial call for service, explaining why officers needed to intervene in what could have been a dangerous situation involving unauthorized access and potential fire hazards.
