Description

REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage captures the alarming moment when a fugitive mother appears to use her own child as a barrier between herself and police. This bodycam video documents a disturbing tactic that further endangered a child already placed at risk during a high-speed chase.

In this police bodycam footage, officers have cornered Clorisa Franklin's vehicle after a pursuit that reached speeds over 100 mph. A deputy issues the standard command: "Driver, get out of the vehicle now." This direct order, captured on the bodycam, follows standard procedure for high-risk stops, particularly with a suspect classified as "armed and dangerous."

Instead of complying, Franklin makes a decision that raises immediate concern, as noted by an officer who observes: "She's leaning across on her son right there." This observation, recorded on police bodycam, suggests Franklin is positioning herself in a way that places her child between herself and the approaching officers—potentially using her own son as a human shield or barrier during the high-risk confrontation.

This concerning tactic, documented clearly on bodycam, represents yet another way Franklin potentially endangered her children during this incident, beyond the obvious risks of the high-speed chase itself. The positioning appears deliberate and raises questions about her willingness to expose her child to potential harm during her attempt to avoid arrest.

According to police reports, this January 31, 2024 incident in Fayette County, Texas began when a deputy discovered Franklin had multiple felony warrants including one specifically for "interference with right to custody." Franklin, classified as "armed and dangerous" with full nationwide extradition authorization, fled at speeds exceeding 100 mph with three children under 10 in the backseat. The chase ended after tire deflation devices were deployed, and Franklin was charged with evading arrest and child endangerment in addition to her existing warrants.

This police bodycam footage highlights the disturbing reality that some parents may expose their children to additional danger during confrontations with law enforcement, creating challenging tactical situations where officers must balance apprehending dangerous suspects with ensuring child safety.
