Description

REAL POLICE BODYCAM footage from Lincoln, Illinois, details the critical moment a trespass investigation turns into a physical arrest based on a suspect's own words. This video features an officer recounting the direct challenge issued by Dalton J. Ingram, which sealed his own fate.

In this police bodycam footage, an officer from the Lincoln Police Department recounts the initial confrontation with a group found inside a building they were not permitted to be in: "Well, they're in the building going through the stuff. Said, 'You got to leave.'" This statement, recorded on bodycam, establishes the clear and lawful order given to the individuals at the start of the encounter.

The officer then explains the immediate and defiant response from the primary suspect, Dalton J. Ingram: "'Nope, I'm not leaving.'" This unequivocal refusal, captured on bodycam, serves as the first key element in the charge of criminal trespass, demonstrating a clear intent to remain on the property against police orders.

The confrontation escalates to its turning point when the officer gives a final warning and the suspect issues a challenge: "'You're trespassing. You have to leave.' 'No, you're gonna have to take me to jail.'" Ingram's statement is a direct dare to law enforcement. The officer recounts his simple, decisive reply, which confirmed the arrest was imminent: "'Okay.'"

Following Ingram's arrest, the non-compliance continued with other members of the group. The officer noted that after telling everyone else, including the suspect's father, that they also had to leave, the response was, "'I ain't, I ain't leaving.'" This detail highlights the difficulty in securing the scene even after the primary instigator was in custody.

According to police reports, this February 5, 2025, incident resulted in Dalton J. Ingram's arrest on charges of criminal trespass to property and resisting arrest.

This police bodycam footage highlights the procedural moments where suspects, through their own words, eliminate all other options for law enforcement and make their arrest unavoidable.
