A routine traffic stop for erratic driving quickly escalated into a DUI investigation, revealing unexpected behaviors and procedural challenges. Responding to a witness report of an erratic driver who damaged a sign, Officer Buskiewicz located and stopped a black 2016 Jeep. Upon contact, he observed indicators of impairment from the 31-year-old female driver, who admitted to consuming "probably two drinks." Field sobriety exercises were initiated but terminated due to safety concerns, leading to her immediate arrest for driving under the influence. During the arrest, the officer specifically questioned the individual about another officer's badge number and conducted a thorough check of a makeup bag, confirming it contained only cosmetics. An open container of alcohol was subsequently found during a vehicle search, and the vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
