A late-night argument outside a club escalates dramatically when a firearm is discharged, leading officers to a suspect in a dressing room. Responding to a call around 11:18 PM on December 18, 2022, officers with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department investigated reports of a firearm being discharged on N Jackson Street. A witness described a young woman in a white shirt and plaid skirt firing a handgun into the air. Officers located a shell casing outside "Toppers" and were directed to a dressing room inside the club where they made contact with the suspect. A GLOCK 9mm was found in a holster under her skirt, despite her claims that another female was responsible.
