On Wednesday, March 15, 2023 around 2:00 AM, Officers assigned to Boston's B-2 District (Roxbury) conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of Ray Lara, 28 of Hyde Park. Officers were on Patrol in the area of Seaver Street when they observed a motor vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was stopped and due to the fact none of the occupants failed to provide proper identification, all were ordered to exit the car. During the subsequent search, officers located what was determined to be approximately 41 grams of crack cocaine and 68 grams of fentanyl, along with $50,556 in US currency. Ray Lara was arrested on site and charged with Trafficking of Class A, Trafficking of Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. He was arraigned in Dorchester District Court and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
