Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation. The Background Anna Alekseyevna Repkina (born Sept. 24, 1989, Moscow) met William Chase Hargrove online in 2016 after a long breakup. She visited Oregon in December 2016; he proposed. She returned March 1, 2017, intending to marry him. She had no relatives in the U.S. and lived with Hargrove in Corvallis. Hargrove (then ~27, Corvallis/Albany area) worked as a mechanic and had been a bouncer at Tom’s Peacock Bar & Grill. He was already in a relationship with Michelle Chavez of Albany (married to someone else; he had rented a room from her). He split time between the two households. Prosecutors described a “problematic love triangle.” Chavez gave Hargrove an ultimatum to choose one woman. He told her he would “have this solved permanently” and that Repkina would be gone. A planned March 25 wedding on the coast did not happen (no officiant/license arranged). The ring given to Repkina was Chavez’s former wedding ring. The Crime Date: Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. Body found the next afternoon, April 17, 2017. Location: Remote dead-end logging road on private Weyerhaeuser timberland near Alsea, Benton County, Oregon. Discovered by a timber caretaker walking a dog. Manner: Single shotgun blast to the back of the head, described in court as execution-style. The shotgun had been borrowed earlier from friend Kevin Thomas and not returned. After the killing, Hargrove used Repkina’s bank card/ID; ATM video showed him withdrawing about $800. He also spent money at Walmart and elsewhere. He was seen that evening at the Peacock bar appearing distraught. The Investigation Initial ID of the victim was unknown. Trash at the scene included a KFC bag with a receipt in Kevin Thomas’s name. Thomas told deputies he and Hargrove had eaten there, that Hargrove borrowed the shotgun, and that Hargrove was involved with both women. Physical/digital links reported at trial: Hargrove’s fingerprints on the shotgun; his DNA on a Dutch Bros straw near the body; cell-phone location data placing him near the scene; blood on his clothing/shoes/belt; witness sighting of his Nissan Xterra in the area. Hargrove first claimed he barely knew Repkina, then said he and Chavez were together in Alsea that day (stories conflicted with Chavez’s account). When confronted with the KFC trash at the scene, he asked for a lawyer. Arrested April 19, 2017. Post-incident, investigators found he researched “time travel” and messaged strangers about correcting “a horrible mistake” and going back to April 16. Those messages were later excluded after appeal. Defense theory in both trials: Chavez shot Repkina during a planned confrontation. Prosecutors said there was no forensic evidence tying Chavez to the weapon or scene. She testified for the state and was not charged. Conviction and Sentencing July 10, 2018: Grand jury indictment — murder, identity theft, two counts of second-degree theft. Not-guilty pleas entered. First trial (Benton County Circuit Court, Judge Matthew Donohue): Began October 2019. Jury found Hargrove guilty of murder, identity theft, and theft on Nov. 22, 2019 (deliberated ~3 hours). January 2020 sentence: life with 25-year minimum on murder, plus consecutive time on the theft counts. Aug. 16, 2023: Oregon Court of Appeals reversed the murder conviction (State v. Hargrove, 327 Or App 437) over an overly broad digital-search warrant and improper admission of device evidence (including the time-travel messages). Theft/identity-theft convictions stood. Retrial: April–June 2025. Jury found him guilty of second-degree murder on June 6, 2025. Sentenced June 18, 2025, again to 25 years to life on murder, with credit for time served since 2017, plus additional time on the remaining theft conviction. Defense signaled a possible further appeal. Chavez remains uncharged. true crime, law and crime network, interrogation, interrogation analysis, red thread interrogations, interrogation jcs inspired, interrogation jcs style, interrogation psychology, interrogation psychology jcs inspired, new interrogations 2026,interrogation breakdown, police interrogation psychology, bodycam, interview, case analysis, bodycam footage, crime investigation, police interrogation, suspect interview, int, interrogations 2026,interrogation videos, jcs true crime
