On April 22, 2022, Officer James Perz of the Clearwater Police Department in Clearwater, Florida, was alerted by a school staff member about a possibly intoxicated teacher driving past. Officer Perz located a silver 2015 Hyundai and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Lauren Brunetto, claimed to be having a panic attack, but officers observed signs of impairment. Officers Miller, Styles, and Karnes assisted in the DUI investigation, leading to field sobriety exercises. During the field sobriety exercises, as Lauren Brunetto attempts to follow instructions, she abruptly pauses and reveals a recent medical issue to the officers. The clip captures the moment her explanation interrupts the flow of the sobriety test.
