It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On August 11, 2024, around 10:10 PM, Lake Forest police officers got a call about a 2015 Nissan Altima driving badly. They pulled the car over on Sheridan Road. Officer Sineni went to the driver’s side, and Sergeant Signa approached from the passenger side. A few moments later, Officer Chernikovich arrived to help. Officer Sineni asked the driver where she was coming from. She said she was heading home after seeing a K-Pop concert at the Rosemont Theatre. The driver was identified as Lisa. She appeared confused and showed signs of being drunk. Her daughter was sitting next to her. Because of the strong smell of alcohol, Lisa was asked to step out of the car and do some sobriety tests. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN). During this, Officer Sineni saw her eyes struggle to follow smoothly and saw jerking movements. These signs indicated intoxication. The second test was the Walk and Turn. Lisa didn’t walk in a straight line and didn’t keep her arms at her sides. The third test was the One Leg Stand. She failed to lift her foot properly and put it down before finishing the test. After these tests, the officer offered Lisa a breath test. She refused. Because of her reckless driving, her admission to drinking, and her poor performance on the tests, Officer Sineni arrested her for driving under the influence. Lisa was handcuffed, searched, and placed in the patrol car. She was taken to the police station for more checks. While there, she made some strange remarks. Due to concerns, she was sent to Lake Forest Hospital for evaluation. Blood and urine samples were taken for testing.
