Police interviews, digital evidence, and a high-profile criminal investigation. This video examines the investigation surrounding Alex Murdaugh and the deaths of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, at the family's Moselle property in South Carolina. What initially began with a 911 call on June 7, 2021 developed into an extensive investigation involving law enforcement interviews, surveillance and digital evidence, phone records, forensic analysis, witness statements, and competing timelines. Investigators initially treated Alex as an important witness after he reported discovering Maggie and Paul at the property. As investigators reconstructed the family's movements that evening, statements from people close to Paul began raising questions about Alex's original account. Digital evidence recovered during the investigation would become particularly significant, including a recording from Paul's phone that placed Alex near the kennels shortly before the crimes. This documentary-style analysis follows the investigation through Alex's police interviews, the examination of physical and digital evidence, and the inconsistencies investigators identified as the case developed. In March 2023, Alex Murdaugh was convicted of two counts of murder and two weapons charges and received two consecutive life sentences. In May 2026, however, the South Carolina Supreme Court overturned the murder convictions and ordered a new trial. He remains incarcerated on separate financial-crime convictions, and the source material states that his murder retrial is scheduled for April 5, 2027. 📣 Subscribe to TwinScope for weekly videos examining real police investigations, interviews, bodycam footage, and law enforcement cases. 💬 Comment Below: Which piece of evidence do you believe had the greatest impact on the investigation?
