An officer pulled over a driver for not having a visible license plate on his pickup truck, but the stop quickly escalated when the man refused to provide his identification. Relying on sovereign citizen talking points, the driver argued that he was not a U.S. citizen and that his vehicle was no longer subject to state laws. His defiance ultimately led to an arrest for resisting, and he spent over three months in jail after failing to appear for his court date.
