Deputies in Indian River County, Florida were patrolling on Halloween night when they spotted a car driving erratically near State Road 60 at 1:30 in the morning. What followed was a high-speed chase that hit over 100 mph through a residential neighborhood — including a collision with a pursuing patrol vehicle. After deputies executed a PIT maneuver to force the car to a stop, the driver stepped out. He was wearing a Halloween costume. 28-year-old Edward Tylor Gaban was taken into custody at the scene. During the arrest, bodycam captured his conversation with deputies — including his explanation for why he ran, his admission about how much he'd been drinking, and the moment officers realized exactly who they were dealing with. Gaban was on probation at the time of the incident. He was charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and violation of probation.
