On March 20, 2025, Las Cruces Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. Officers located the distressed 26-year-old driver in front of a nearby residence. Her two children were in the vehicle at the time of the accident and residents of the neighborhood were attending to the injured kids. The Las Cruces Fire Department responded and transported the woman and her two kids to the hospital. At the hospital, the woman was too intoxicated to understand what happened. She claimed to have 3 kids, but did not know where her 3rd child was. Officers stayed at the hospital for many hours waiting for the woman to be medically cleared for jail. The children's grandfather arrived to take custody of the children. The woman's charges and the outcome of her case is discussed at the end of the video.
